*Kelly's Apartment: Nighttime*

Ana unlocked the door and rushed inside, finding the man she was looking for asleep on his couch. She rushed over and crouched beside said piece of furniture.

"Sev." The brunette hissed, gently shaking him awake.

Kelly moaned in pain and turned onto his back. That was when Ana caught sight of the gash on the left side of his head and the blood smeared all over his pillow. She let out a soft growl and raced into the kitchen, coming back out with a small wash cloth.

"Sev!" Ana yelled, pressing the towel to his wound. "Wake up!"

"Mom?" Kelly groaned, looking up at her groggily.

"I know you're probably suffering from the worst hangover of your life at the moment but I need you to come with me." She explained, urgently. "Right now. Come on."

The Squad Lieutenant knew better than to question Ana about things like this and merely forced himself awake as he was half guided half dragged out of his apartment.

*District 21: Bullpen*

"Hey, Sarge, I can take him for y- uh, never mind." Kevin cleared his throat, awkwardly, and shied away from Ana's heated glare.

She led Kelly into the Break Room, making sure he was comfortably seated at the table, before closing the door and leaning against it. Erin sighed and stood up from her desk.

"Ana, we've been over this-"

"I'm not putting my godson in an Interrogation Room." The brunette snapped, crossing her arms.

Hank chose that moment to come out of the Office and, upon realizing what was happening, placed his hands on his wife's shoulders.

"Ana, he's a suspect." The older man reasoned.

"Henry, he didn't do this." She insisted.

"You don't know tha-"

"Yes." Ana interrupted, voice deadly calm. "I do."

Hank glanced at Erin and sighed, removing his hands.

"Has he lawyered up yet?" He inquired, changing the subject.

"No, and that's only cause he knows I'm gonna make sure he doesn't need one." Ana replied.

The older man looked at Erin again and nodded for her to follow him. Ana opened the door and the three cops entered the room. Hank and Erin sat across from Kelly at the table while Ana stood behind the Squad Lieutenant, keeping her arms crossed.

"Hey. You okay?" The Detective wondered. "You need a cup of coffee or. . .?"

"No, no. I just want to get out of here." Kelly sighed, fidgeting and crossing his arms.

"Then we're all on the same page." Hank nodded.

"Would you take us through last night?" Erin requested.

"I gave an autologus blood donation because I was gonna donate bone marrow to this girl, Anna. Spelled with two n's instead of one. You both know this." Kelly explained, gesturing to Erin and Ana as the elder of the two placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. "But the surgery. . .they couldn't go forward with it. The chemo started killing her. They cancelled it."

"51 says you didn't come to shift." Hank recalled.

"I was in a bad mood because of the cancelled surgery, so, no, I took the shift off." The Squad Lieutenant shrugged.

"Where'd you go?" Erin wondered.

"Tap on Rush." Kelly replied, feeling the grip on his shoulder tighten, significantly.
