In front of me, a 12 year old demon I couldn't have not instantly recognized with his crimson red eyes and black hair. He was frightening, powerful. He could make my head explode like a light bulb under too much wattage. 'Help'
"What's your name, minus?"
Oh sh*t! If I tell him my name he'll have a grudge against my family thus my brother. But if I don't answer, he'll see it as an insult.
What do I do?
Panic attack. Not now! I couldn't breathe and I felt like dying. It was too much for my 6 year old brain for today. Don't faint! Don't faint! Don't faint!
I fainted.
I thought I was gonna hit my head but someone grabbed me before I hit the floor.
When I opened my eyes I was on the couch next to the bathroom door.
'Ugh my head!'
"Am I that scary?" Someone asked amused.
Kevin. Damn you! If you hurt my brother I swear!
"No Sir you're handsome" I smiled.
'Stfu!' What's wrong with me today?
"Hehehe" go on, now I laugh like a retard! I'm digging my own grave.
"So what's your name?"
Oh come on!
"Ami?"
On the other side of the corridor, Gregory was standing with Caleb next to him. Great timing! What do I do now? They didn't even meet the Princess and they're gonna fight because of me. I gotta do something!
"Oh so you know this minus?"
"I don't just know him, he's my brother, Amiel. And who allowed you to call him names?"
"What names? Ah! You mean the description "minus"?"
I swear I saw a vain pop out on my brother's forehead from this distance. I gotta do something and fast!
"Hahaha hey, big brother, this is my new friend, Kevin. He's nice!"
Smile, motherf*cker! But my muscles had given up from fake smiling all day. 'Oh come-on!'
My brother came between us like a shield.
"Did he hurt you, Amiel?" His eyes were screaming bloody murder.
"No... actually... Actually Mr Kevin saved me".
"Huh?" (They both huhed at the same time).
"Well I was going to fall and hit my head but Sir Kevin saved me."
Kevin clearly was enjoying himself. I don't know what made him smile like that but he was smiling like the devil devouring a soul.
I swallowed and tried to keep my cool.
My brother clearly wasn't happy. I didn't know about what exactly but he left no time for interpretation. He turned around very fast with a displeased face.
"Thank you, Lord Kevin. You helped my brother"
He then took my hand and Caleb's and took us away.
"See you next time, minus" a demon shouted from behind.
I coud hear my brother's teeth grinding all the way out of that hallway. 'Sorry, Gregory. I made you worry again'.
"Mom, dad! We're leaving!"
My parents were in the middle of a conversation. It was so unlike my brother!
When we got into the carriage the two parents were fixing the new 7 year old in the group, not knowing what she was doing there.
"Her mom allowed her to stay in our place" I said quickly.
During the way home, Gregory didn't feel happy at all. Did I make him angry? He had to thank that guy he clearly didn't like for saving me. He must feel upset. I wanted to apologize.
"... Gregory I..."
"Greg"
"Huh?"
He turned to me "you called me Greg today when you introduced me to Caleb right? Call me Greg now" again with this angelic smile.
He grew up a lot but his smile stays the same. So beautiful.
"Okay!" I smiled. He wants me to call him just like his friends call him. It made me happy.
This time, my smile wasn't forced...
