I had awakened light magic!
How was this even possible? I have the same body, the same genes as Noah. So how is this even possible? This meant that I'm a pure blooded noble and that I could become a royal knight if I wanted!
Joy and Caleb were looking at me with wide open eyes.
I prepared to open my mouth to say something but Greg suddenly burst into the room at the speed of light (sorry for this joke)."Ami!"
"He...hehe... sorry Greg I just came back and managed to ruin another one of father's properties."
He ignored my joke, too preoccupied at checking if I was hurt anywhere.
"What happened?"
"He just awakened his ability," Joy said joyfully (I'm sorry, I'll stop right now).
At that moment my brother turned to me and gave me my favorite smile in the whole world. The problem is... I didn't expect the consequences of that angelic smile...

'Kill me'
For the last few months, I have been practicing with my brother intensely. And when I mean intensely talking about a Leonheart, believe me, it's intense.
My frail body had been physically trained to bear the backfire of the magic, I had to train it like a knight while I thought during my entire life here that I had no powers. Is this what the Goddess of Light called a blessing?
Actually, I'm complaining but I have never been happier. I can become strong, fight alongside my brother and protect our Empire. And I could use my knowledge in magic theory on a practical scale! A new breath of life came into me and I honestly needed it.
I needed to keep myself as busy as possible to recover mentally.
Caleb was even more excited than my brother. She said that she wanted to challenge me in something since we were kinds and she destroyed me while playing chess.
Thank you for that painful memory. Why don't you challenge me in business management huh?
Of course she'd ran away as soon as I'd propose.
Anyways, why hurry so much with my training you may ask? Well the recruitment took place once a year so I could choose between participating in three months or in fifteen.
As the Crown Princesses' brother-in-law, I was allowed to take the exam without ever studying in the Academy before and with just presenting a diploma in economics and management. As I nailed the written exams, I was scared of the annual practical exams, having to spar with other people.
I never fought in my life. I had never physically protected myself or attacked anyone and for some reason, just the thought of it never crossed my mind as I was constantly reminded of my helplessness.
But now, I was another person. I had confidence, I could cure anything with light magic, I could crate a shield and protect someone, I could destroy anything. I was able to protect people.
As I was thinking that, I came to the realization that the conclusion I had made in the library as a child wasn't correct. I didn't become the villain of this story just because I took the villain's place as Caleb's saviour.
I could actually... be a hero?
'Do I... perhaps...have the right... to become a hero one day...?'
Thank you for reading!
