The day has come.

Today is the day of the Crown Princesses' coming of age ceremony. The beginning of the book. Everything that happened before was told piece by piece later in the story.

If I can change the beginning of the story, then maybe everything will end up well. But I still remember my plan from the beginning: do not change too much or having read the book will end up being useless.

I already feel uneasy because everything related to Caleb will be irrelevant starting from now. I tried to rewrite the script by having her on my brother's side but I honestly didn't know what influences it would have.

Our family looked so well, with my mother wearing a beautiful blue dress, the colour of her eyes, me and father wearing a black suit and my brother wearing a dark blue one.

Greg looked like a god. My angel is on a whole other level now. It feels unreal.

As we were gathered in the entry, Caleb came down a little late. It was worth the wait. She was wearing a grey dress, her hair tied back letting her unique purple eyes show.

She's gonna be a dangerous woman. Can't wait to see that.

When our eyes met I realized that I had been staring and looked away. She must think I'm a weirdo.

When we finally arrived to the royal castle, I scanned the place to find Kevin. If I could distract him while the princess was walking in, I'd succeed.

In the book this scene was described as "he was there for power, bla bla, but when she entered the hall he was mesmerized by her beauty, bla bla." I had to ruin it.

I found him at last! He was on the other side of the ballroom. I walked towards him as I heard the deadly words:

"Enters Her Highness the Crown Princess, Caroline Rognor!"

I was late. I ran like a mad man ignoring the stares until I got there in time to advert his gaze from her. Yeah, my name is idiot and you?

When I got there and he looked at me I froze. Mission complete. He didn't look at the Princess. He was looking at a crazy 13 years old that ran to him and fixed him blankly.

"Minus?"

"Hello, Lord Kevin. It's been a while!"

"Yes, it sure has been a while". He grinned. "What does a minus like you do at such an important event?"

"I had to come, it would be a disrespect to the Crown not to be here".

"You came here to see the Princess too, huh?"

Oh no! Don't remember her! Look at me! When he adverted his gaze to look at her I took his hand. Don't ask me how awkward it was. Don't make the trauma worse.

I smiled like an idiot.

"Do you like places like these, Lord Kevin?"

I already knew the answer. He hated it. The only reason he was here was to get power. He wanted to be at the top of the Empire. He wanted to be the most powerful man.

Why you may ask? Well no villain is interesting without proper motivations. And his motivation was revenge. You see, Lord Kevin was a Lord at such a young age for the simple reason of his parents being dead.

Their relatives killed them in order to take their heritage. Their fortune was comparable to the one of the Royal Family.
So you can imagine that a lot of people only waited for the day when they would die. Carriage accidents happen and it's not hard to pay some people to make them happen.

The young Kevin survived but his entire family and younger brother were gone when he was only three years old. The one thing the antagonist and protagonist had in common was the loss if their younger brother.

But for Kevin, it was a reason to become a villain. To avenge his family, he needed evidence which was erased when he was a grieving child or power: if the Queen or her husband ordered an execution, it couldn't be contested.
He wanted all of them dead, it was his addiction and as he fell in love with Caroline, becoming her husband became his only reason of existence.

"What are you doing?"

Ok this was scary. His crimson eyes were glaring at me angrily. Dammit! I forgot that he hates being touched! My hand released his at the speed of light.

"Pardon".

He pushed me away as his eyes focused on the Princess and he walked in her direction.

Of course killing the love at first sight wouldn't be so easy! Just what was I thinking? I had to stop this right now. Although I had stopped him from seeing her, I didn't stop my brother's moment with her when they first talked to each other. Kevin was walking towards them and that would be the moment when he interrupted my brother to steal the Princess away, as my brother didn't let it happen and their first fight took place.

While he was walking to them, I appeared in front of him with determination and said.

"Lord Kevin, I'll ask you to follow me. We need to talk".

I grabbed his hand and dragged him behind me.

-----

In a crowded ballroom, a boy was dragging a scary person behind him by his hand as purple eyes were watching the scene with a deadly glare.
