The Last Stand

Chapter 7

Recap:

I reached my hand out to stop and ask what was wrong, when a loud sound and something large hit the building that we were standing right next to, making Peter and I's hands fly up, protecting our heads from flying debris.

"We couldn't let S.H.I.E.L.D contact you and make you go back home, before we properly introduced ourselves."

Standing in front of us were three people, and I automatically recognized them as the three villains Fury called us in to deal with.

"We think we're fine without knowing you." Peter responded. The girl with the blue hair cocked her head.

"We insist. But.....you know. Actions speak louder than words. " She said, pointing her finger right at our feet.

Crackling, blue electricity came from her fingertips and hit the ground in front of us, blowing up dust and ground.

That gave us a distraction as vines came from the ground, and circled around our torsos. The harder we struggled, the tighter the vines became, making us just sit still.

When the dust finally cleared, we saw the boy with the green eyes raising his hands, and the farther he raised his hands....the farther the vines pushed us into the air.

Before we could high enough for if we fell we would hurt ourselves, I touched one of the leaves hanging onto the vine, and instantly the whole vine froze.

I ducked and rolled the same way that I did at the park, and jumped up running to Peter, whose vines were still increasing in height.

One simple touch, and the vine froze mid-way, soon shattering and giving Peter the opportunity to jump down, him landing lightly on his feet.

"That was easy.." Peter mumbled.

"Yeah...too easy." Because it was true. Villains like them wouldn't just give up.

And to prove my point, Peter and I barely had time to duck when spikes the size of my freaking face flew at us, hitting the wall behind us.

When we looked back to the three villains, they were no longer there.

"Where the hell did they go?!" Peter exclaimed, jumping up and looking around. I grabbed his arm after standing up.

"We can't go after them without back up, it'll be a suicide mission. We have to go back to base and report what happened."

"We didn't even get any information, except their powers. And Fury already knows what their powers are." Instead of asnwering, I bent down and picked up a leaf from the vines that held us, and walked over to the building that had a spike lodged into the wall, carefully pulling it out.

"These two clues can help us a lot." After that, we didn't stay out long, we headed straight to the base.

After dropping off the clues in the lab, Peter said he needed to talk to Fury and that it was urgent...so that left me in the lab, watching Tony and Dr.Banner take anylasis on the two clues.

I just stood off to the side, watching them, saying comments whenever they asked me questions. Some of them were normal....some were....weird.

"So, how did you get recruited into S.H.I.E.L.D?" Tony asked, not taking his eyes off of the computer screen.

"Uh...I just woke up at the base in Charlotte, North Carolina...not knowing or remembering anything and Phil helped me remember some things." That's all I wanted to say, and I guess he could see that because he looked at me as if he were saying "Well...continue," but turned his attention back to the screen.

 After that, it was silent for a while. Until Tony shouted.

"AHA! Got it. How these spikes duplicate...are called prion cells." Oh! That made sense.

"I get it. Protein cells, a.k.a Prions, can cause brain disease, such as Creutzfeldt- Jakob disease. Making them duplicate very quickly, and highly resistant to destruction. So that's why they didn't shatter when they hit the building." They both looked at me in surprise.

"What? Was I not supposed to know that?" I questioned. Tony scoffed.

"No! It's actually good you know that. Now you can help Bruce and I in the lab, instead of one of those stuck up, snotty-- Hello, Angelica!" He stopped abruptly.

Turning around from my seat on a table, I looked towards the door where a blonde girl with blue eyes, wearing a lab coat and carrying a clipboard walked in. Her face said model, but her clothing said science person. Yeah......

I smiled at her, being polite and nice.....only to get a scowl in return.

"That table is not for sitting on." She said through gritted teeth.

My eyebrows raised in surprise.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I'll--" I had started getting off of the table, but she rudely cut me off.

"But you're still on the table.

"And you're still being rude." I shot back, automatically. She rolled her eyes, scowled at me again, and turned to Tony, plastering a bright smile on her face.

"Here you go, Mr. Stark. I ran the tests on the spikes, and the results are something that we should've seen earlier, actually. They're so... simple." She explained, handing the file to Tony, who looked through it for a second, before placing it on the desk.

"Thank you, but we found it out. With the help of Audry." He looked at me and grinned, whereas Angelica glared at me.

"Oh. Well if you need anything, I'm always available." She turned around, glared at me oncemore, before walking out, her heels clacking on the floor.

"Well, thanks, Tony. As if she already had a reason to hate me." He laughed, before turning to me.

"Now for Mr. Nature."

Hey, yall! I really don't have anything to say. I love you all (which you all know by now. I hope...haha)

I'm gonna go read TASM fanfics and cry my eyes out.

I just finished watching TASM2...and I'm currently crying my eyes out and eating a bowl of Kraft Mac' n Cheese (and of course writing this) because I forgot how emotional Gwen's death was.....and I felt his pain. To lose someone so dear to you and yeah...

but before I turn EVEN MORE into an emotional mess.... I will see you all soon, and a new chapter is coming.

Oh! Almost forgot... good news!

1) There might be another book after this, and it'll be about Peter and Audry's future (but not when they're really old. They'll still be Spidey and Isolde ;) )

And 2) I might make an account on Instagram and tumblr, specifically for the "Secret Identity" characters. What do yall think?

My answer: My favourite scene is near the end when Peter is watching Gwen's graduation speech and it's showing the cute, adorable scenes with them two being the cutest couple ever *yells out window* OTP. OMG "It's on again" LITERALLY JUST CAME ON.
