The Last Stand

Chapter 13

"Are you sure you're okay, Audry?" Peter asked for the...millionth time.

"Yes, I'm fine! Thanks for asking, but I promise I'm fine." I sighed, rolling my eyes.

I continued to type away on the computer, feeling Peter's eyes on the side of my face.

It was quit for a while, my typing the only sound in the room.

"Have you found anything?" He questioned.

In the midst of being so focused on researching, I hadn't noticed Peter come up and stand behind me, watching over my shoulder at the work on the screen.

"Uh... no. It's going to take a while before I find anything. I mean....this is pure Vibranium. One of the purest metals on earth. Information, useful, information about it won't just pop up out of...nowhere..." I trailed off as I looked to the side, only to find Peter's face right next to mine.

I kind of just....stared at the side of his head, admiring...him.

Any girl would be lucky to have him. He was sweet, caring, very smart, and he would do anything to save the one's he loved.

Not to mention....he was extremely attractive.

I was pulled from my thoughts when he turned his head, probably sensing my eyes penetrate holes into the side of his face.

We looked each other in the eye, and I could instantly feel my heartbeat pick up, involuntarily.

I could see his brown eyes up close, and let me tell you...

They were the most beautiful things I had ever seen. Pulling my gaze from his, I looked back to the computer, trying not to get lost in his eyes.

"Um...Like I was saying. We can't just pull up Google and search for it. And besides-" I was cut off by his hand softly grabbing my chin and turning my head towards his.

Our eyes locked once again, and I could feel the spiraling spell going on once more.

"Why do you do this to me?" He whispered.

I was acutely aware of the proximity between us, adding a buzz to the air.

"What..do you mean?" I asked, slightly breathless.

In my mind, I scolded myself for letting a boy have this affect over me.

I was supposed to keep control over myself. I was supposed to keep a calm and guarded demeanor. Not be able to break only by looking into a boy's eyes.

But that's what was exactly happening, right now.

His hand reached up and gently cupped the back of my neck, pulling me slightly closer.

"You don't remember anything..do you?" I couldn't answer. I didn't even know what to do! I had never been in this situation before, and I didn't know if I liked it, or hated it.

It just felt weird, because I had never.....experienced this kind of thing before.

That didn't stop me from leaning closer when he put his forehead on mine.

"Please, remember me. Audry..."

Right as his lips grazed mine....

Tony decided that it would be a nice time to barge in.

"Alright," he exclaimed, clapping his hands, "lets figure out some vibranium."

Hihi....FINALS ARE OVER..THANK GOD. Lol. I don't have anything to do really...so I'm going to go listen to indie music and read! YEAH!
