*The next day* *Audry's POV*
I practically flipped out of the bed this morning when my alarm clock went off.
I didn't know why I felt so excited. I was just going somewhere with a boy.
An extremely, adorable, beautiful boy.
"Get yourself together, Audry. Do not make a fool out of yourself." I scolded myself, fixing my beanie on my head.
I stood there for a second, looking in the mirror and scrutinizing every single thing that I had on.
It seemed like something entered my head, making me pick out every single one of my flaws. It was probably just nerves. I mean... I've never had a problem with my body.
My thoughts were interrupted when 2 knocks sounded on my door, making my heart skip a beat. Or two. Or ten. I'm pretty sure I'd be dead if that happened.
Walking quickly to the door, along the way trying to get my nerves together, I opened the door. I came face to face with Peter, clad in casual wear, but still looking handsome as ever.
I really need to get my emotions in check.
What if he didn't want to be more than friends? Well, of course not right now. We literally met each other yesterday. I didn't want to force something upon him that he didn't want! Like.... No! That's not cool!
"You look amazing." He commented after assessing me. I felt a smile grow on my lips.
"Thank you, and you look rather dashing yourself." I replied in a posh, English accent. He laughed, while I mentally cursed myself out.
I had to l no reason to worry though, because what he did next... Just concluded that he was also weird.
"M'lady." He bent his arm, and waited until I hooked my arm through his before he proceeded..... To skip down the hallway.
This day was going to be interesting.
************************************************
The day was going on well... But at one point, I remembered that this city had 3 powerful, deadly villains on the loose. That resulted in me being tense and always looking around, alert. That's how I was trained.
Peter seemed to notice this, and he put an arm around my shoulders.
"Hey. I know you were trained to be alert at all times, and you're trying to keep everyone safe... But we're fine right now. S.H.I.E.L.D said that if they saw any suspicious activity they would alert us to come back to case, immediately. So... Let loose. Have fun." He shook my shoulders, making me smile.
"I'm sorry I'm putting a damper on things. It's natural instincts to be jumpy and aware of everything.. I paused, noticing a park behind him.
"I'll beat you to the swings." With that, I ducked around him and ran to the swings.
I beat him by a millisecond. When I had sat down on the swing, he had grabbed one.
"Beat you." I said, smirking and swinging. He started to swing, looking at me with a mischevious glint in his eye.
"Yeah, but I bet you can't beat me with who can swing highest and jump furthest." Instead of answering, I simply started swinging higher with every pump of my legs. He took that as an answer.
You can try.
For a while, it was quiet, just the sound of the swings creaking slightly with each swing.
"You ready?" He didn't wait for an answer, he just...jumped off, aaaaaand....
Landed like a boss.
He turned and faced me, smirking.
If that was a challenge, I would surprise him.
I jumped off and instead of landing right on my feet, I pulled my knees in and rolled right next to him before standing up once more.
He looked at me in pure surprise.
I couldn't help but feel the same pull from yesterday in my brain, like a memory trying to break free.
I would think about it later, but right now I had another question in mind.
"I don't think I know what your powers are." I said as we were making our way to the coffee shop.
"Oh! Of course! I have the...traits of a spider. I can climb up walls, I have these web-shooters that shoot a web like substance that I swing from. My senses are a little heightened than the average human's. I'm more agile. That's pretty much it. Not as cool as shooting ice out of your hands, though." He gestured to my hands, which were in my pockets.
"Your powers are really good too. I mean....you help and save a lot of people's lives, Peter." He didn't say anything, he just stared straight ahead.
I reached my hand out to stop and ask what was wrong, when a loud sound and something large hit the building that we were standing right next to, making Peter and I's hands fly up, protecting our heads from flying debris.
"We couldn't let S.H.I.E.L.D contact you and make you go back home, before we properly introduced ourselves."
