MY GRADUATION CAME. Umuwi ang parents ko at si Kuya. Kompleto rin ang girlfriends ko. They even gave me a bouquet after the graduation ceremony.

My parents decided to have a simple dinner outside to celebrate. They will also sponsor a week vacation of my choice for me and my friends. Mag-relax daw kami dahil graduate na kami.  Of course my friends were so happy dahil paid na ang lahat ng expenses namin.

But an unfortunate incident happened just a week after my graduation. We received news that made us cancel our one week trip. Fita’s mom was crying while delivering the message to us.

Spica’s mom passed away.

As soon as we received the message, Rafa and I immediately drove to Batangas. Nauna na raw sina Spica at Fita roon. I even texted Lonzo and Apollo about it.

Alonzo, who was just around Batangas came first. Nang makarating kami sa bahay nina Spica ay parang gusto ko nang umuwi agad. I’ve never seen Spica this weak before.

Spica has always been a strong girl. She doesn’t express her emotions most of the time. And seeing her cry like this, it breaks my heart.

This year was so tough for all of us. Rafa is still on the process of fixing herself, then this happened to Spica. I don’t know what to feel. Fita comforted Spica.

I’m thankful that Apollo and Alonzo are here to help us with Spica. We also met Spica’s dad and her younger brother that’s still a baby. We helped with everything. We stayed in their house for a week.

Hanggang sa libing ng mama ni Spica ay hindi naming sila iniwan. We stayed until a week after the burial. I don’t want Spica to think that she’s alone in this. We want to let her know that we’re always here by her side.

But she isn’t responsive. Palagi siyang tulala. Nag-alala na ang papa niya sakaniya kaya sinabihan niya kami na kung pwede ay ilabas-labas si Spica para naman makasagap ng sariwang hangin.

We used the budget for the supposed to be trip that is sponsored by my parents. Nilibot naming ang Batangas. Nag-beach din kami, nag-hike, nag-camping. And after a month, thankfully, Spica started smiling again.

I know healing wasn’t easy. But I know my friends will get through this. We even participated in church gatherings and bible studies. We just thought that maybe, it’ll help refresh our minds. And yeah, it did.

A lot of things happened these past weeks but the important thing is, we never left each other’s side. I’m glad that we’re a part of each other’s journey. And just two months later, we received a yet another good news from Fita.

“CARE TO SHARE what’s on your mind?” nilingon ko si Apollo. Nandito kami ngayon sa condo niya. It’s been three months since we came back from Batangas. And come to think of it, we haven’t had our alone time since the Spica incident.

Bumalik na rin siya sa trabaho niya. He’s one of the guest hosts in a noontime show for three months. And I swear, nakakasawang makita ang mukha niya sa TV every lunch time.
