I couldn't believe my eyes, seeing him there with her naked body wrapped around him felt like a ton of bricks falling on me. I thought he was different, I thought he was the one. I never thought he would do something like this, how could I have been so stupid?

"What the hell is this?!" I yelled and they both woke up.

"Shit! Babe! It's not-"

"What it looks like? Yeah, Right. Do you really think I'm stupid enough to believe you?!" I said interrupting his attempt to convince me otherwise.

"Lydia, babe I swear-" He tried again.

"Save it, Nathan! I'm not gonna be one of those girls that gets back with her boyfriend after he cheats. I don't care about your excuses, they mean nothing to me. We are done! It's over! I never want to see you again!" I said and started to leave but stopped myself and turned back to face him. "Oh and by the way Happy Birthday!" I said as threw the cake that I spent all morning making for him at them and walked away. I was not going to become one of those girls who is naïve enough to believe lies when the clear truth was right in front of them. I just never thought that Nathan would be the kind of kind to cheat. He seemed so honest when he told me that he loved me, I guess he was a great actor or I was just too stupid to see the truth. I thought I knew by now, after what I went through in the past but I guess not.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't be laughing but I can't believe you actually threw the cake at him." My best friend Amelia said when I was done telling her what happened and then I started laughing too. "I really can't either. I don't even know what came over me." I said between laughs. "Well, I'm glad you did because they deserved it." She said and got serious again.

"Mommy! Mommy! Look what I colored for you!" I heard my 4 year old daughter Evelyn yell with excitement as she ran towards me holding a piece of paper in her hand.

"What is it sweetie?" I said as I picked her up and sat her on my lap.

"It's a drawing of you and aunt Meli." She said the best way she could and handed me the drawing.

"It's beautiful." I said and gave her a kiss on the forehead. My daughter was the best thing that ever happened to me, despite what her father did to me. He doesn't even know she exists and I doubt he ever will. Sometimes I wish that I would just end up where he lives and I would tell him about Evelyn but then I tell myself that it's a really bad idea.

"Mommy, can I watch paw patrol?" She asked eagerly, she loved that show about talking dogs that help people out. "Did you eat breakfast?" I asked her. "Yes, mommy. Aunty Meli made me pancakes." She said and I looked over at Amelia. "She speaks the truth, she ate an entire pancake and her grapes." Amelia reassured me and I smiled. "Okay, then you can watch paw patrol." I said and grabbed the control to turn the tv on.

"Let's go out tonight, I heard about this place that just opened up. I'll call Melanie and Emily and we could have a girl's night out?" Amelia said after a while of watching paw patrol with Evelyn.

"I don't know, what about Evelyn?." I said.

"Liam can watch her, you know he loves to take care of her." She said but I was still hesitant. "C'mon, you'd deserve a night out." She said after a few seconds of no response. "I don't know." I said, not really sure if I wanted to go out but at the same time Amelia was right. I haven't had a night out in a while, being a single mom it's hard to find time for myself. "Lydia, you are a great mom and you love Evelyn more than your life and I know that you don't like to leave her but Liam is her uncle and she loves him and he loves her. She'll be perfectly fine with him." Amelia said and she was right. I mean, it's not like I was leaving my daughter with some stranger he's my brother. "Okay. Let's go." I said. "Yay!" She squealed.
