"I'm a mom" (Chapter 4)

"Lydia? What are you doing here?" Luke said when I opened the door at Mr. Anderson's house.

"I told Sofia to tell you to come here because there is something really important that I need to tell you." I said and he looked confused.

"What is it?" He said.

"Come on in, let's sit." I said opening the door more and we walked into the living where Sofia, Caleb, Liam, Amelia and Mr. Robinson were sitting. I told Liam and Amelia that I was going to tell him and they said that they wanted to be here for moral support.

"I feel like I'm having an intervention." Luke said standing in the middle of the living room looking at everyone.

"You could say that." I said quietly and then the room was silent.

"So, what do you have to tell me that everyone had to be here for it." Luke said after a few moments of silence and I was just about to speak when the that I wished wouldn't happen did.

"Mommy! Mommy! Can I have ice cream?!" Evelyn asked eagerly as she was running towards me and I looked up to see Luke with shock in his eyes. I froze for a few seconds not even knowing how to function.

"I'll get it for you ladybug, come on." Caleb said getting up and taking her hand, she took it happily and they walked into the kitchen.

"D-Did s-she j-just call y-you m-mommy?" Luke said barely being able to speak and I turned to face him but still not being able to speak. "Answer me Lydia! Did she just call you mommy?!" He said getting a bit frustrated after a while of silence.

"Y-yes! Okay, she called me mommy because I am her mother!" I finally said.

"What?!"

Silence

"How old is she?"

"She's four and if you're trying to figure out whether or not she's yours. She's four, her birthday is in January and you left five years ago so do the math!" I said regretting the way those words came out of my mind right away, that is not how I wanted to tell him.

Silence

"I have a daughter?" He said and I could see a stint of sadness in his eyes and what looked like regret.

"Yes.." I said letting a deep breath out.

"Why didn't you tell me? Why am I only learning about this now?" He said first looking at me and then turning to face Sofia

"Don't. You have no right to be mad at me or Sofia." I said and he looked beyond upset.

"How could you keep this from me?" He said in an angry tone.

"How could I keep this from- Are you serious right now? You left! You left and we didn't know where you were or why you left or anything! You can't blame me for not telling you, by the time you told Sofia were you were and what you were doing Evelyn was already born and quite frankly at that point I really didn't want to tell you!" I said practically yelling.

"You named her after my mom?" Was the only he said after that whole rant.

"Yes. Evelyn Rose, I named her after your mom and my mom." I said with tears forming in my eyes and it looked like he has tears in his eyes too.
