"What am I going to do?" I said as we were sitting at the table eating breakfast the next day."About what?" Liam asked.
"About Luke, if he's going to be here the whole summer and for the wedding he's bound to find out about Evelyn."
"We can tell him that she's our daughter if you really don't want him to know." Amelia said
"But all everyone in this damn town does is talk about everyone else's business. What if he overhears them saying the Evelyn is our daughter?" I said getting really worried.
"I can't believe I'm going to say this but maybe you should just tell him the truth." Liam said completely surprising me.
"I don't know. I'm just.. I'm scared." I said
"Of what?" Liam asked.
"Of the different possible outcomes. What if he rejects her? What if he does want to be a part of her life but then he just leaves and breaks her heart like he broke mine? What if he tries to take her away from me? What if-"
"Lydia.. Lydia. Calm down. You're overthinking this way too much." Liam said cutting me off before I completely lost it.
"I just- I don't know what to do." I said a bit more calm.
"I think that things would turn out worse if he finds out from someone else. Which is why I think you should tell him as soon as possible" Amelia said and she was right, the best thing was for me to tell him.
"You're right, you're both right. I have to tell him." I said but I was still really worried. "But how am I going to find him?"
"Call Sofia maybe he already went to see her. Maybe he told her where he's staying or she can give you his number." Liam said, so that's what I did when Liam left for work and Amelia went to run some errands and we talked on the phone for a while. She told me that Luke went to see them yesterday and that they didn't expect it and his dad wasn't too happy to see him because of his disappearing act. His dad never really forgave him for just leaving the way he did, especially after he found out I was pregnant. His dad went through a rough patch when Luke's mom died, he started drinking a lot and eventually became an alcoholic. Luke hated that because his dad was always his hero and seeing him fall apart like that broke his heart. When Luke left his dad got worse to the point were he ended up in the hospital because he was so drunk that he fell down the stairs and he broke his leg in the process but even after that he kept drinking. It wasn't until the moment that Evelyn was born that he decided to get help and he hasn't had a drink since that day. I still remember that day so clearly, it was the best day of my life.
*FLASHBACK*
"I'm gonna go get something to drink, you want anything." Amelia asked as she got up from the couch.
"Umm.. no. I'm fine, thanks." I said and she left. I sat there for a while, just watching tv when suddenly I felt a contraction and Amelia walked in at that moment.
"Are you okay?" She said seeing the painful look on my face.
"Yeah, I'm fine. It was just a contraction." I said barely being able to speak.
"Do you think it's time?" She said.
"I don't know, I mean we've already had like 3 false alar- Ouch!" I said feeling another one.
