Chapter 5

"Sasha what are you doing here?! And how did you get into the city!? Avery told you guys, I was going to come back for fuck sakes!" I signed to her hoping she knows sign language. "I came here with Avery but she went home to get clothes for me, Allison and Crystal. Plus it looks like Rachel is getting worse so we needed to get her medicine now so we decided to split up." Sasha said with a serious tone. Thank god she knows sign language because it took Avery 5 years to learn it so I'm glad. This is a bad idea though because if they find Sasha, she's going to die! I was thinking a lot until Sasha pulled me out of my thoughts.

"Seth! Relax, everything will be okay, you just need to calm down. I know it's risky for me to be here but like I said we need that medicine in order to save Rachel so I rather risk my life to save hers because she risked her life to save me and Crystal." Sasha said. As much as I hate this, she's right we need to get this medicine for Rachel. Rachel is like a sister to me and I don't want to lose her either along with Avery. I signed to Sasha that I will get the medicine and hand it to her that way she can leave the city right away. She was about to protest the plan but it's the only plan we got so she agreed to the plan. Sasha told me what medicine I needed to get and I walked into the store.

I told Sasha to wait for me in the alley. I was pretty much speed walking trying to find the medicine and I finally found it and paid for it. I got out of the store and I heard Sasha scream. I ran to her as fast as I could but my leg is really fucking it up for me right now. When I got to the ally I saw three guys pinning her to the wall while one of them was about to take her hood off until Avery ran past me and punched the guy that was about to expose Sasha.

"GET THE AWAY FROM HER, YOU FUCKING BASTARDS!" Avery yelled when she punched the guy.

Avery was fighting all of them at once and she's winning so far. Until one of the guys pulled out a knife, that's when I stepped in and pinned the guy with the knife on the ground and knocked him out. The other three were out cold and I looked at Avery and for once I'm scared of her. She was beaten up but she had only a little bit of blood on her knuckles and she was breathing heavily too. Avery looked at me and Sasha and asked if we were okay. I nodded slowly along with Sasha. Sasha is surprised that Avery did that for her let alone took on four men at once without thinking of a better plan. Sasha's jacket got teared up and Avery put her jacket on her which I'm surprised because it was Avery's favorite jacket and she never let's any other girl wear that jacket. Sasha was about to thank her but Avery walked away and said "Come on, Rachel is waiting for us, we don't want to keep her waiting."

I looked at Sasha and she was smiling while following Avery and I followed them as well. We finally got to the cave and out of nowhere I got punched in the face because I walked into the cave first while Avery and Sasha went hunting for food. I know that punch because it's still the same feeling.

"I'm so sorry Seth! You're lucky it was my fist this time instead of my knife." Allison said, panicking a bit. I touched my cheek with my right hand and Allison grabbed my wrist. I was confused and she was shocked and kept staring at my robotic hand. "I never noticed you had a robotic arm." She said still shocked. I pulled my hand away slowly and looked at it. I was shaking well, at least my right arm was shaking. I'm trying so hard not to have a flashback in front of Allison and Crystal. Crystal walked up to me and asked me if I'm okay. I nodded and handed her the medicine that Rachel needs. Crystal thanked me and went back to Rachel to give her the medicine. I took a deep breath and followed Crystal. My eyes went wide and Rachel looked really bad. She was sweating a lot and breathing really fast like she's having a nightmare. Crystal lifted Rachel's head up to make her drink the medicine and laid her head back down gently. It looks like she's feeling a bit better. I felt a hand on my shoulder and looked at Crystal.

"She almost got bit you know, but luckily Avery was there to help her out. Instead she got a huge scratch mark on her now but she will be okay after a couple of hours, who's Tess by the way?" Crystal said being curious. I looked at her, took out my notepad and asked her if she knows sign language. She nodded and said Allison knows sign language as well because they helped out people who is deaf. I took another deep breath and started to tell her who Tess was. 

"Tess was Rachel's little sister, she was only 6 when all of this started, and 4 years ago Rachel and Tess snuck out of the city to go play out in the fields but then another wolf showed up and Rachel fought him to make sure Tess runs back into the city until another wolf showed up, He grabbed Tess and then.... He bit Tess on the neck. Rachel was pinned on the ground and watched it happened, the wolves were laughing and was hoping they can make a beast and tame them but then Tess bit the person that bit her and that's when he started to freak out and threw Tess to a tree and was about to shoot her but luckily my sister got there and killed both of the wolves. Rachel got up and ran to Tess holding her and was crying a lot. My sister handed a knife to Rachel and looked away. Rachel was screaming no there has to be another way she's all I have left but then Tess put her hand on her cheek and Rachel looked at Tess and Tess smiled at her and told her it's okay, I will be with mom and dad now, I love you Rachel. Then Rachel killed Tess and was holding her dead body close to her and kept repeating her name over and over. Ever since that day Rachel refuses to cry and wants to kill every beast she sees even if it means losing her life as well. I said while looking at Rachel.

Rachel told me that my sister was crying as well because that's her biggest fear is losing me as well. I didn't know Rachel like that we were only classmates at the time until my sister brought her home and introduced us. She was crying all night and that's when I went into her room and comforted her and that's when we got closer. I heard a sniffle and looked at Crystal and she was crying. I put my hand on her shoulder and that's when she hugged me. I was shocked and hugged her back and started petting her head. She was starting to calm down and looked at me and said sorry. I said it was okay.

"I lost my little brother like that actually because he got bit twice by the same wolf actually, my father tried to save him but it was too late. My brother turned into a beast completely and then my parents died to him. I had to kill my brother and it was the most horrible feeling of all time. I have a little sister back home so she's all I have left. I understand how Rachel feels." she said, while wiping her tears away. We both heard a grunt noise and we both looked at Rachel. It looks like she's waking up finally normally. Avery is the one that sleeps in all of the time. Rachel slowly opened her eyes and looked around.

"Where am I? What happened?" Rachel said, looking at me. I was about to answer her question until she looked at Crystal and Allison and was confused. Until the realization kicked in and she got up really fast but she instantly regretted it.

"What are you doing! You're still in bad shape and you still have a slight fever as well so please lay back down and rest." Crystal said, putting her hand on Rachel's shoulder. "Wait, you're a human." Rachel said, looking at Crystal closely. "Yeah I am. Is that a problem?" Crystal said, looking down. Rachel smiled and said "why would it be a problem, I don't care if you're human or not." Now Crystal is smiling and they are staring at each other at this point. I got up and walked out of the cave. Allison called my name but Rachel said leave her be something happened.

1 hour later

I'm sitting in front of a pond looking at my right arm. That day was the worst day of my life. I heard a stick break and I pulled out a throwing knife and threw it at the tree. I was glaring at the direction where I threw my knife at. 

"You know this really needs to stop because it really is being our thing, Seth." Allison said, walking up to me. I facepalmed myself and thought to myself, "great this is like the third time. Allison sat down next to me and gave me my throwing knife back. I nodded to show her that I'm saying thanks.

"Did I do something wrong?" Allison said, looking at me now. "What do you mean?" I said. "When you pulled your right hand away, you looked like you were about to have another panic attack." She said. I sighed and said "I had a bad past Allison, I lost my arm when this whole entire thing started. It's also the reason why I don't talk as well. This arm is a reminder of something I can never forget." I said while I feel like my arm is shaking. "If you don't mind me asking, how did you lose your arm?" She said while putting her head on my shoulder. I was debating whether to tell her or not but then again Brook always wanted to talk about it because it's been a while since I told someone. I took a deep breath and said.

"I chopped it off"
