We arrived at an abandoned house which stood in a middle of a farm all by itself. This is starting to feel Clark Kent-ish.

"This use to be my home 400+ years ago. I've had tenets living here and paid people to take care of it when my parents passed away. I even flew over at night to refurbish it when tenets complained of things starting to fall apart."

He looked like a child returning home after being lost for so long . The look of nostalgia on his face was almost heartbreaking.

His fingers touched the counters lightly and a single tear fell onto the counter top. He quickly sniffled and wiped his eyes.

"Upstairs is a room, it use to be mine but I'm taking the masters and you can have that room. This is a farm but I just never have time to fly here and take care of the animals so, it's just land. I'll set up some chores for you to do around the house and tomorrow, I'll get you enrolled into the local high school."

I gave him a slight nod so he knew I heard him well and then made my way upstairs to my brand new home.

The stairs creaked underneath the weight of me and my luggage. Please don't break. Since I'm not a super, that means I heal really slowly just like a human. How am I gonna heal from wood splinters in the leg.

I passed the bigger room and headed for the smaller one near the back of the hallway. The room looked exactly how I'd picture it but it seemed to be missing a few items that would make it feel like home. Especially to my grandfather.

I guess he remodeled due to letting tenets live here. He's 400+ years old, I doubt the room looked up to date if he left it the way it was. Still I always wondered how my grandpa was as my age.

15 is such a stupid age, I can only imagine what my grandfather was up to 400 years ago. Seemed boring back then.

Anyway, I began unpacking my bags and trying to settle into this new world. A world where my grandfather was the outsider and I was normal. A world where super-humans do not exist.
