"So, what are we to do with Emerson Phoenix? He's the strongest Super and I'm pretty sure he's the reincarnation of his grandmother." An elder spoke out towards the group.

"We all know how his grandmother was hence why we are on this island on the first place." A female elder spoke out.

"Yes that is true but if we can train him and mold him then we won't have to worry about that happening now would we?"

"But how can we insure that he won't become angry and take out this island in the midst of his anger?"

"There are too many what if's with Emerson and he needs to be eradicated quickly and efficiently."

"We can't kill an innocent kid again. Stop being childish and start thinking in the future for Emerson. Let's watch him and see what will come into play." The youngest member of the committee spoke out.

The silence in the meeting hall was deathly and suffocating.

The head elder sat up and cleared his throat.

"No harm will come to Emerson Phoenix but, the moment that boy slips up and it becomes the greater good of the island vs. him, understand that I will forever pick this island over him.

I know right now he's with the sianna twins and they have been able to keep him and his power under control. We will watch from a far and if anything proves to be a threat then report it back to me and I'll be the one to make the final decision. Understood?"

The whole room nodded and silence. No one except Emerson's grandparents have ever defied an elder and that is simply because they picked the elders to run the island themselves.

The same elders that are now plotting against their grandson for the greater good of the island, or so they thought.

Almost everyone filed out of the conference room. Some aggravated and others Satisfied.

Two people were left.

"Emerson will be untouchable by the time they decide to take him out if he's dangerous."

"That's the point. We need to watch over him and guide him from a distance. Don't forget who created the elder's position. The same people who are trying to cross Emile and he's not someone you want to cross."

"Okay I'll keep my eyes on him."

"If the elders make a move to eradicate him then we'll let Emile know and we will go from there."

Both servants of the elders nodded their heads. Their job was to make sure that all elders are comfortable during their meetings but also an ear to Emile Phoenix (Emerson's Grandfather).

They kept the elders in check without exposing their identity. They balance out the committee perfectly.

"I will notify Amalia and update her on what's been happening with the elders. She will be pissed and want to get involved but I'll keep her at bay until she's needed. She is our secret weapon if things turn for the worst."

The servants nodded their heads and with a understanding nod, they both teleported from the dungeon and to where they needed to be.

Even servants had to keep secrets of their own and little did anyone know that these two servants where working for someone else as well.

...
"Amalia, I come to you bearing bad news."

"Haven't I told you to never come to me with such things as bad news. I'm too old for this shit."

The servant knew to tread carefully since she was in one of her moods. She'd often had tantrums and those never ended good for anyone.

"It's regarding Emerson Phoenix."

Amalia took in a sharp breath. the servant never understood her obsession with the Phoenix family. The servant once asked and the only thing she said was the child to that family is destined for greatness.

"The elders are talking about him. Some in fear and others in wonder. He killed elder Grey in a controlled spar and then brought him back to life. He in their eyes are a threat while others see him as their personal weapon."

"The elders wanna kill the boy, don't they?"

The servant took in a deep and shaky breath.

"Some of them do. Yes."

Amalia shook her head and chuckled. This put the poor servant on edge. She was in a sour mood a second ago, why is she laughing now?

"They won't even be able to get close to him to do any damage. The boy is almost immortal and once he hits 21 his aging will slow down. He can kill himself but it won't work. No one else can kill him either. If they wanna kill him then let him live his 2000 years in peace and he'll die eventually. That's his life expectancy."

"How do you know so much about the boy and his gifts?"

"I knew someone like him. Before your time and when the time comes, all will be explained. Look out for Emerson and keep me informed as well as his grandfather about the elders. Nothing will come good from what they are going to do."

The servant nodded in understanding and left Amalia to her lonesome. That's all she ever was, alone.

...

The other servant went to Emerson's grandfather Emile with the news of what the meeting was about.

Emile wasn't as civil as Amalia about the news.

"If they touch one hair on Emerson's head I swear Emerson will be the last person on this island for them to be worried about." Emile seethed in disgust.

"We're watching over him and we are going to try guiding him from a distance. It's not safe for us to be seen with him."

"Can't you two shape-shift?"

The servant feared that, that would be asked. It's absolutely tiring to hold a look for as long as a school day. It's not impossible just so much work.

"Why yes sir we can."

"Become Emerson's friends quickly and efficiently. I don't care what you have to do, just do it. I have to prepare just in case they try something slick. Let your counterpart know what I'm asking of you. Don't mess this up and I promise I'll make sure you two are the head of the elders once it's all said and done."

Emile walked away and the servant sat and thought of what was awarded for them.

Power.

That's all the servants wanted. Power over the elders to control things from behind the scene. If they needed motivation then, well now they have it.

No harm will come to Emerson. Especially if Amalia and Emile had anything to do about it.

Why does those two names sound so familiar together?

The servant shook his head and headed home to update the other servant on what's next and what's at stake.
