10. Meri to the Rescue

The concert was a hit . Especially for Rose because at the end of the concert she had received the text she had been waiting for .

Dr. Juniper had agreed to let her work as an intern in the 'Heal Touch Hospital' . She had been doing nothing but studying these 3 years. It was after all the most productive and effective way to escape what had been clutching her heart . So she had studied a lot of medicine these years helping her to be a bit ahead of her peers .

Her good grades and regular self had impressed Dr. Juniper and he was ready to take her in as an intern even before she was qualified for one only if she was able to clear the exam he would personally set for her .

She was fine with that as she had already done half of it in her school and some more merely out of curiosity. After all ,schools in India had a higher level of studies for younger generation as compared to Calgary schools .So she and Amelia were already familiar with a lot of the syllabus they were doing in their first semester here .

This wouldn't pose a problem for her . She had always wanted to follow her Uncle Ben to help those in need .The best way she could think was to help them with the least basic first aid for free at their doorstep or in their locality . For this she needed experience, she could not just risk their lives , so she decided to give it a shot and ask Dr. Juniper if he was interested in helping out .

She had heard he really believed in charity and helping those in need . Many times he had paid the hospital fees for those in need .Dr. Juniper was really impressed by the determination of this young girl. He felt nice knowing there were people who thought just like him , it had been long since he met one of these kinds. He was ready to give this girl the chance or else he would regret this his whole life .

Rose had suggested this to others in her group too but Amelia had already signed for some guitar classes she wanted to take since she was 14 and only now did she get the chance . Stephanie was already in the ballete club in the college which often went on short tours which made it impossible for her to attend any regular classes. Catherine couldn't afford it. After all her family had to manage not only the fees of two children but also give them minimal monthly allowance. They could afford just this so both Catherine and Carlos had to do some sort of part time jobs even though Carlos also played in the Basketball team for the school along with Ryder who was the captain and so couldn't assist Rose .

Ryder had become particularly fond of little Rose .He saw his little sister in her whom he had lost before she was even born , a miscarriage. He never got attached to the child much but he always wanted a little sister since then . Rose made him feel need to protect her . Even though she was capable enough to do so herself , she was smart , confident and quick witted , but somehow her pure heart and innocence made him protective .He would have definitely taken the offer if it would have been possible for him.

So she had applied alone and getting a positive reply seemed almost impossible, but it seems she was blessed to have got the opportunity. The meeting was supposed to be this Monday, so she dragged all her friends to shop something appropriate for the occasion to nearby stores . She wanted everything to be perfect.

" Oh this red dress is perfect . It suits your name and will hug your curves just at the right places "

" Never ! Roe take a look at this shrug . It'll pull so well with that favourite top of yours ."

" Oh Shush you both !! You don't have a single pence of fashion sense . Look at this plaid maroon skirt and black top , it'll match so well with her long hair ."

" The skirt is too short "
" The shrug is too plain"
" The dress is too revealing "

The three of them huffed and went back to the stands. Rose who was currently sitting with her elbows perched on her knees and her head in her hands sighed loudly .She had given up trying to persuade them out of this shopping spree.She already regretted asking for their help .
