Rose felt numb again after many years . She felt the ringing in her ears yet again . But this time , she wasn't alone . There was a warmth surrounding her but she was still too lost in her world to sense it. It was only after her mind nagged her that she started looking for the little kid who was nowhere to be seen now . She started thrashing in the arms looking around to find him when she heard his voice.
" Rose dear ! ROSE !! Calm down , calm down love!"
She stopped thrashing and felt the arms around her . She immediately recognised the familiarity and looked up to see Jordan holding her tight with a worried expression. She slowly became familiar with the surroundings and found herself in the middle of the road , in Jordan's arms and his bodyguards blocking their view from anything else . She finally found her voice .
"Where is he ?"
Jordan heaved a sigh of relief but soon it was overtaken by rage . The moment he saw Rose jumping in front of a car he felt his heart stop . He couldn't see or comprehend anything before jumping behind her pushing her out of the way instantly . But if it wasn't for the timely brake by the driver , all three of them would have been in the hospital right now . Jordan wasn't able to push her completely out of the way but he had somehow shielded her and the child.
Jordan's eyes clouded as he looked down at his world sitting in his arms peering up at him through her eyelashes. But this time her effect on him couldn't overtake his love and worry for her . He could have lost her today for god's sake !
He untangled himself from her and without looking into her eyes with a small but evident contortion on his forehead he subtly nodded towards the child who was now in the arms of a woman who was showering him with kisses and crying at the same time . Rose slowly tried to walk upright her but stumbled as a sharp pain shot up her leg . Jordan was immediately beside her holding her up .
The worried guy made her sit on a side bench as the woman now approached them . With a nod from Jordan the bodyguards let her pass and before she could reach them she was already thanking them in an incomprehensible stutter . Rose smiled through her pain at the woman and made her sit down trying to calm her as she checked the boy for any injuries . He seemed fine to her .
Jordan all this while stood a few steps away constantly staring at Rose checking her all over for any injuries . He stopped only when he was hundred percent sure that she was fine . The lady was persistent to exchange numbers with Rose . She told her that she is a call away whenever Rose needed her and that she would be thankful to both of them for the rest of her lives. With that the lady named Rihanna Karla took her son to visit the nearby hospital.
A now satisfied Rose glanced up and smiled at Jordan but he didn't return the smile . Instead he walked to her in slow confident strides with a neutral expression on his face and started helping her get up . Her ankle seemed to be twisted . He led her to the car with the same stoic , stressed posture and the same neutral expression. This wasn't the Jordan she knew . Rose frowned .
He helped her in and got in from the other side instructing the driver to drive to the nearest hospital. All this while he avoided any type of contact with her. Rose figured she will have to start the conversation.
"Jord ?"
She tried with the sweetest baby voice she could muster. He always seemed to love this name , he wouldn't be able to resist , she thought, but he didn't twitch a muscle to acknowledge her .
"Jord ? Jordan ? " she tried again .
Seems like this is going to be difficult, she concluded . She prodded his arm but he remained stoic . He was acting like a kid now . Rose smiled at the thought and was about to try again when the car stopped once more .
