Eyes Behold

29. Last moments ..

Sixteen children , sixteen small pure souls were rescued from the area and the nearby blocks. These ' parents ' had been torturing them and forcing them to do all the jobs in the house.

They were never their real parents. These children were either orphans or picked up from the streets . Some of them were not even from the state . These first 5-7 years of their lives were spent caring for these heartless bastards.

Rose was shocked beyond belief . Carla on the other side of the line still had bad news . Many more such 'humans' were still in the society and from whatever they had been able to discover , many of them had already fled from the scene even before they could have reacted.

Since Rose played a big role in this case , Carla felt it right to inform her about this. If it wouldn't have been for her , they would have never been able to catch them . The 16 children were not in any better condition than Mike himself and all were being rushed to the hospital right now. Louis decided to stay back.

After trying to explain an injured persistent Rose that it was in her best interest to rest for a while , he gave up and let her help them out to tend the children. Seeing Mike all well , the intially agitated scared kids settled down a bit as Rose and Louis along with the available staff tended to them .

It took around five hours for them to finally finish it off. So by the time she reached back to her dorm room , she had crashed into her heavenly bed before even knowing about it, she was out like light. Stephanie helped a sleeping mumbling Rose out of her shoes , adjusted her injured arm carefully to prevent any stress and layed her down in a more comfortable position.

She was so proud of this girl who she now called a friend. She felt lucky to have met her . She smiled gently and went back to sleep her exhaustion off .

The next day , the whole campus was in a buzz. Apparently a famous budding journalist by the name Claire from the Raymond college had published a news report about both the recent incidents ; the car accident and the kidnapping scandal . The news was on fire. It had become viral all over the city .

Since morning , a still exhausted Rose had to tackle uncountable students, teachers and even the principal for the matter. She would have been escatic if it wouldn't have been for the exhaustion from yesterday . That and the big dose of medicines that she had to take for the wound had made her sleepy and delusional.

So at the end of the lectures Rose was sitting in front of a guilty Claire with her head clutched in her hands , trying to glare at her. Well for Rose she was guilty . As in for Claire , she didn't care and was instead excited seeing the increasing fans and followers.

Rose hated such attention. She knew Claire did this for her but today was just plain insufferable. Claire on the other hand was hell bent to let the world know how proud of a best friend she was .

It was simple in her mind . Everyone should be informed about such things . It helps them be alert and urges to do something for the society too.

In a few days , the news spread like fire . The already famous Rose for the rescue incident , became double famous for the accident scene too. Local news papers and channels were trying to approach her. It became all the more difficult for her to get out of her dorm rooms . She was the living sensation in the whole college. Many boys wanted her to be their girlfriend.

The gang was having a nice time teasing Rose . The poor girl was circling all around in the gazebo where they all were relaxing together.

" Today it was 3 more than yesterday. How should I avoid them ?"
