HE SETTLED ON GIVING DRACO THE HALF-TRUTH. DRACO WOULD CALL HIM OUT IF HE STARTED LYING, this was the safest option. And maybe when Draco found out the whole truth ( Lucien wished he never would ), he'd react calmly. He highly doubted it; disappointed faces of Ramona and Draco, he could imagine very clearly.

The two sat on the grass by the Great Lake, the sun long gone as the moonlight shone against the not so calm waters. The lake greeted them in reflective blue and greens, the dim lighting making it appear more sinister. The wind-dancing ruffles seemed to match the pace of Lucien's many thoughts as the boy tried to make sense of them.

His arm was still hurting, but slightly less than before. Maybe it was Draco that kept his mind off things, helped him endure the pain.

Draco had found him after dinner. He thought it was a simple skip day, just Lucien being his usual self and itching for some mischief. When he asked around and realized nobody had seen the King boy after Potions, the unsettling voices in his head got the best of Draco; urging him to find Lucien.

He now was leaning back on his hands, his head tilted up as he studied the night sky. The lines had deepened upon his face each passing year, making his features stand out more than they already did. The stars had nothing against his silver eyes, Lucien thought, the intensity they carried was nothing but a fraction of how complex Draco was.

Dropping his gaze, Lucien stared at his own hands; resting them on his lap, allowing himself to think quietly. "They're gone," he finally found the words.

Draco turned around to meet his gaze, looked at him a little confused. A glint of realization appeared on his face, lips twitching before he covered it up. Taking full control of his expressions, he put his uncaring mask back on. His lips formed a thin line; he didn't want to press Lucien for an answer, not more than he forced out of him already anyway.

"Them," Lucien gestured at his head, a half-hearted wave of a hand.

"That's not a good thing?" Draco asked warily. He straightened his back and sat up, the sky he was busily watching left behind as his eyes were fixed on Lucien.

"It is," Lucien agreed. "I don't know, actually," he corrected, a sigh accompanying his words. "It just stopped. And it's almost silent. It feels weird." he said.

"Almost?" Draco faced him. Lucien blamed the question for the chill that ran down his spine, telling himself it wasn't the warm eyes that bore into his soul.
