THE SILENCE HANG BETWEEN THEM FOR A SLIP SECOND; IVY UTHER DEAD AND WELL- AND STANDING IN LUCIEN'S ROOM, HAVING HEARD THE WHOLE FIGHT.

"I'm a killer. What I did to you, it's just-" Lucien started, he had so many things to explain, too many things to make up for; but the girl cut him off.

"You didn't kill me, you know," Ivy said, knowing that Lucien was blaming himself for all that happened. "It was Bellatrix, she found me wounded after your parents took off. She was the one who killed me-" she looked straight into Lucien's eyes when she spoke, just like she used to do; and as a sign of that nothing between them has changed. "-because I failed to kill you."

"I'm sorry," Lucien mumbled, barely audible.

Ivy half-heartedly gave him a smile. "It's fine," she said. "I never blamed you. I wasn't going to kill you, I don't think I'm capable of something that vile. You were just a baby."

"Does this mean I can steal Potter's spotlight?" he asked, hoping a joke would help the tension diffuse. It did, only a little. "Not the time, sorry. I'm just glad you're back, a friendly face that I don't have to lie to."

Ivy offered him a sympathy filled look. "Glad to be of service, kiddo. How can I help?"

Lucien knew Ivy expected him to ask about how to talk to Draco, or how to face Aunt Ramona when they see each other for the first time in months in Christmas break; but never what he was about to say, or rather show. "Maybe you can tell me what the fuck I'm going to do with this."

He revealed his arm. "Well, shit, kid," Ivy shook her head sadly, her eyes distant for moment. Lucien stayed silent, and let her think back on her own tragic, short life intertwined with the Dark Lord; her being nothing but a pawn to use in order to achieve something much bigger than all of them combined, but not bigger than the Dark Lord himself.

Lucien hated every minute that the girl didn't speak, not gifting him with a solution to escape Voldemort's grip. It wasn't like she had found a way out, but even if Lucien said he didn't deserve to have hope, friends, or anything that would make him slightly happy; he didn't want to feel like he had to die to leave this life behind.

"Frankly, I have no idea," Ivy looked solemn. "And with that power of yours, I don't think you'll be able to wiggle your way out of this so easily."
