LUCIEN ALEISTER KING BELIEVEDNO ONE COULD STAY SANE INSIDE SANITY, that he became a madman himself. The dead lingering in his dreams, sorrow haunting his every step; lunacy was inevitable. Eerie thoughts spiralled inside his mind, his words tasted bitter. His demons lurked in the shadows when the nighttime came, he couldn't escape. He had spent countless nights staring at the starry night to quiet the voices down. The deceased witches and wizards haunted his thoughts, guilt growing in Lucien's heart as they stared at him with meaningless eyes.
The ghosts drowned him in their suffering, pain overtaking his mind as he realized he couldn't save them. His powers made him realize how powerless he actually was, useless. If he hadn't been on edge due to lack of sleep, he would've found it amusing. The ghosts he saw weren't the kind that lingered innocently in Hogwarts' halls, they were monsters. Much unlike the Bloody Baron or Fat Friar, the ones that accompanied Lucien on his most lonely nights were the oddest ones with vile tempers. Their odious characteristics and virtues made things unbearable for Lucien, most of his days turning into corrupt visions.
They would try to pull Lucien into the other side, just because he couldn't do anything to put them out of their misery. They wanted justice in their own corrupt ways. To justify their own wasted lives, they only found it fair to steal Lucien's in return. He couldn't do much when that happened. Drifting in a place between unconsciousness and reality, his memories would turn into blurred images and vague colours that he wouldn't even recognize himself anymore. If it wasn't for Aunt Ramona snapping him back to reality, he imagined the beast he would have turned into would be ruthless; courtesy of his powers.
The dead usually came and went, screeching in agony until their despair became Lucien's own. Dodie Clark and Ivy Uther, on the other hand, never left. The two girls tragically died at a young age, kept Lucien company as he dealt with the darkness that came within his ability. Dorothy Clark had been one of the most powerful witches in Hogwarts until the Dark Lord took her life away. The wizarding world mourned her death deeply, and only for a moment before Lily and James Potter met the same fate as her. She was long forgotten by then, it was the Boy who Lived the wizards and witches all talked about.
Ivy Uther had been on the other side of things. She once was a Death Eater, feared by the innocent and loved by the wicked ones. Nobody knew why, and Ivy changed the subject whenever Lucien had brought it up, but apparently, she had failed the Dark Lord to help the others. It was not long after that she was murdered in cold blood by Bellatrix Lestrange, her young corpse left behind to be found by no other than Remus Lupin.
