"Dean, we need to be there in twenty minutes, hurry up!"
"I'm coming, I'm coming!"
"Well you could've waited till we get to the hotel at least, babe."
"Your mind has gotten impossibly dirty since you've met me," Dean chuckled and ran down the stairs, planting a quick kiss on Cas' cheek, grinning wide.
"So are we going or what?"
Cas just shook his head, not even trying to hide the fond smile spreading across his lips as he reached for his suitcase and followed Dean outside where the taxi driver was already nervously tapping his fingers against the steering wheel. Tucking both of their bags into the trunk they told the driver the address of the hotel where they were heading before finally getting into the car. The impala was parked safely behind Bobby's house and Dean spared one last glance at the car as they drove down the road. The sun was shining high above the city and they sat in comfortable silence as the driver made his way trough the busy streets of New Orleans.
The hotel where they were going to be staying for the weekend was at the area around Lake Salvador, and the car drive was only about twenty minutes before they arrived. They were surrounded by tall trees and fresh air, a pleasant change from the hot, thick air of the city. The hotel was more luxurious than anything they've stayed in before, and they definitely put the king sized bed to good use before it was time for them to leave for the ceremony.
When they arrived to the spot where the wedding was held, some of the seats were already filled with familiar faces as well as people Dean has never seen before. It was obvious his brother was always the more sociable one. Just as the thought crossed his mind, Sam walked out of one of the white tents in a fitting grey suit, smiling wide and waving at them. Dean made his way over to him, hand in hand with Cas, and gave his brother a tight hug and a pat on the shoulder before giving him a once-over and smiling at him widely. Cas exchanged a smile with Sam as well before they proceeded to greet more people and let Sam get ready for the ceremony.
Dean could feel Cas relax the moment Sam left, and he couldn't blame him. It was more than eight months since him and Cas walked out of the old house hand in hand, and yet things still weren't the same as they once were. After Castiel explained everything that's happened, Sam tried hard to act the same way as he did when he still had his memory, but no matter what, Cas was still a stranger to him. After a month of tension and forced smiles, Dean decided it would be better for all of them if him and Cas moved in with Bobby and gave Sam some privacy, especially since he found a girlfriend that hadn't died within the first week of dating him. They visited Sam and Keri quite often, and slowly Sam got to know Cas all over again, and by the time he and Keri had gotten engaged, they had almost the same relationship as before. But the angel never quite forgave himself for everything he put Sam and Bobby through, which was something Dean tried to change every day. He made sure Cas forgave himself for what he had done to him, even though it took a long time, many sleepless nights and endless arguments that ended in tears at 3am, and eventually the angel was able to say "I love you" without every word silently screaming "I am sorry" . Dean made it his personal mission to fix Cas, to give him all of himself if he needed, to glue all the broken pieces back together and replace the missing ones with his own, to do everything he could to repay the angel for everything he had done for him over the time.
The ceremony itself was everything Dean expected from Sam and more, a live band playing slow love song and the bride walked down the aisle with tears of joy pooling in her eyes and smile spreading across her face as her eyes met Sam's. Dean was standing a few feet behind Sam as his best man, and gave him a reassuring smile when their eyes met. By the time the preacher finished his speech, Dean had to wipe at his eyes to stop the tear that tried to escape his eye, and he quickly turned to lock eyes with Cas, whose cheeks were already stained with tears and his smile widened when he noticed Dean looking at him. Soon enough Dean found himself in a crowd of all the wedding guests, his and Cas' hands intertwined as Keri turned her back to them and threw the bouquet high into the air. He wasn't sure how it happened, but seconds later he found himself catching the flowers and heard Sam laughing loudly from the front of the crowd. With a shrug he turned to Cas and pecked his lips gently, smiling wide.
"We'll be together forever anyway, but hey, wedding doesn't sound bad," he whispered against the angel's lips, who only laughed and murmured a quiet "I love you" before connecting their lips again.
The end.
