Chapter 42

Bella's POV.

It had been a few months since everything with the Volturi had happened. Garrett's gone and things with me and Kate were getting back to normal. I was a little worried about Charlie, ever since finding out about Edward, she was a little withdrawn.

We all tried different things to distract her but nothing was working. I was leaning against the kitchen counter when I felt someone wrap their arms around me from behind. I sighed and leaned back, knowing it was Kate.

Kate smiled and kissed the side of my head. "What's up babe?" I sighed. "Just worried about Charlie." I turned in Kate's arms and wrapped my arms around her neck. Kate nodded. "Yeah, me too, but she'll come to us when she's ready."

I looked around. "Where is she?" Kate rolled her eyes playfully. "With Leah." I laughed. "I guess I should have known."

Kate hummed and pulled me into a kiss. I sighed and sank into it. I felt Kate smile and I quickly swiped my tongue over her bottom lip. Kate opened her mouth and we were soon exploring each other's mouths. We both growled. I jumped up wrapping my legs around Kate's waist.

Kate soon slammed me up against the wall. I growled biting down on her bottom lip. Kate thrusted against me, causing me to pull her closer. I moaned when I felt Kate's hand slip into my pants.

I growled when I heard my phone start to ring. Kate pulled away and started kissing my neck. My phone started ringing again causing me to moan but for the wrong reason. I heard Kate mumble against my neck. "Ignore it..."

I moaned, shaking my head and untangling myself from Kate. Kate sighed and rested her head on my shoulder. I reached around her, grabbing my phone. "I can't, it might be about Charlie."

I looked at the phone seeing it was Leah I answered.

Phone call in bold.

Me: Hey Leah, what's up?

Leah: Hey Bells, don't freak but something's happened.

Me: What's happened?!

Leah: Charlie's gone....

Me: What do you mean gone?! Gone where?!

Leah: She snuck away, she left a note, she's gone to find Edward...

Me: WHAT?!

Leah: I'm so sorry Bells, everyone's at the reservation now, so if you and Kate can come down here, we can figure something out.

Me: We're on our way.

Phone call ended.

I looked worriedly at Kate. She silently grabbed my hand, we both ran out the door towards the reservation.
