Mommy and Mama

Jane POV
As I walk through the front door of my home I hear lots of laughs and giggles. The sight before my eyes was beautiful, I see Maura sitting on the living room floor with Laney on her lap laughing while being tickled my Mere. I quietly walk in the foyer to lock away my gun and badge careful not to interrupt them.
As I make my way to the kitchen to grab a drink from the fridge the back door opens and enter my Ma but before I had the chance to tell her not to say anything she greets me.
"Hey Janie.!" She says in her not so quiet voice.
"Jay Jay?" I hear for the living room
"Geez Ma could ya be any louder I don't think they heard you in Texas." I say slightly annoyed as she leans in to kiss my cheek.
"Oh don't be such a grouch." She says
"Jay Jay home!!!" I hear both girls yell out before I feel two body collide with my own.
"Hey kiddos."
"Jay Jay you come pway wiff us too pwease" Laney says while tugging me toward the living room.
"Of course" I allow the little to pull my into the living room and I greet my wife with a kiss
"Ewww" both girls says in unison then giggle.
" I'll show you two ew" I began to tickle both girls
"Uncle uncle" they both cry out in a fit of giggles.
I stop for a moment to let them catch there breath.
"Jay Jay guess wat." Laney says to me still slightly breathless
"What?"
"No you gots to guess or me won't tell you."
"Okay hmmm can you give me a hint so I know what guessing about?"
"Nah huh" she shakes her head no
"Well then how am I supposed to guess silly girl?"
"Yous a de-Detecive so you just gots to guess?"
"Oh it's that right?"
"Mmmhmmm" she says. I look to Maura and she just shakes her head and laughs.
"Don't look at me Jane I have no idea. And she is kind of right you are a detective so it should be easy for you guess what."
"Okay since when does being a detective mean I can read minds?"
"I dunno buts you betta guess before you make her sad Aunty Jay" Meredith chimes in with a smirk on her face before walking out of the room. She obviously knows what going on and want to let Laney have her moment.
"Okay okay umm is it about you?"
"Mmhm" Laney confirms
"Is it your birthday?"
"Nope. Twy 'gain"
"Okay umm is about anyone else beside you?"
"Yes."
"Okay can you tell me who?"
"No yous gotta guess." She whines slightly
"Is it about Meredith and you?"
"No"
"Is it about Maura?" She give me an excited head nod and hold up 1 finger. I'm trying to use my detective brain to figure out what that means
" okay so it's about you and Maura?"
"One mowe?"
"One more guess?" She shakes her head no "One more, one more,one more what?" I keep repeating I look back at Maura to see she can help but she is looking just as confused as I am.
"Ah ha I got it one more person?"
"Yup" she says
"So I not Meredith so is that other person me?
"Yes."
"So it about me you and Maura...hmm kiddo are you sure you can't give me a hint?"
"Ugh me jus tell you." She says and I cant help but chuckle at how adorable she is.
"Okay kiddo I'm listening." She crawls up on my lap and attempt to whisper something in my ear.
"Me wans you to be my Mama." She says and I can't help the shocked express that graces my face.
"Really? You do?" She shakes her head yes and leans in to whisper something else
"And and me wans Mauwa to bes my Mommy."
"Well I would love to be." I give the little girl big hug and a kiss on the cheek and she giggles.
"Laney would you like tell Maura what you told me?"
She shakes her head no and point to me.
"Yous do it."
"You want me to tell her?" She shakes her head yes.
"Are we being shy?" She nods again
"Okay Laney bug how bout we tell her together?"
"Otay ." She says while hiding her face into my neck.
"Jane?" Maura says in a question as to what going on.
"Okay well this little bug wants to ask you something but she a little shy so I gonna tell you what she told me that sounds about right Laney?" She nods her head again in confirmation.
"Okay so Laney wants me to be her Mama." Maura let's out a small gasp obviously she is just as shocked as I was. "Okay Laney bug you want to finish the rest of this?"
"Mommy" She says as she points to Maura. Maura let's put another gasp.
"You want me to be your Mommy?" Maura says slightly tearing up at moment.
"Yes pwease." Laney says finally removing her face from my neck to look at Maura
"Oh my gosh! I would be honored to be your Mommy." Maura agree while slightly crying.
"Mommy sad?" Laney questions
"No my sweet sweet girl Mommy's not sad she just very very happy."
"Mama happy too?"
"Yes Mama is happy too kiddo."
"Yay Laney happy too."
