A New Beginning

Beach day

It's been a few days into summer now, today is supposed to be the hottest which apparently means beach day for the town. Lewis left a flyer in my mailbox this morning telling me about the event. They change it around the seasons hottest day and if there isn't one then there isn't a beach day. I got a text from abby and hayley, they had both invited themselves over to get ready. A knock at the door told me it was time to stop procrastinating.

Leah:hey, um sorry i was hoping since today is beach day...um could we get ready together?
Y/N:of course! Hayley and abby are headed over too, and i can text penny and maru too.

I did of course which ended up becoming a whole thing with the girls of the valley. Hayley came with her sister Emily, Abby came in alone, and Penny and maru were together of course. Abby and leah started to talk more as the girls all got comfy and ready to go out. I also got a text from Sam.

Sam:hey heard the girls are throwing a before beach day party? Can we come?
Y/N:no we are just getting in our bathing suits. It isn't a party.
Sam:ok on our way
Y/n:sam! No!

That didn't stop him, or Alex, or Elliot, or harvey, or shane, or even seb. They were in their swimming clothes waiting for us all outside.

Maru:oh hello dr.harvey?
harvey:wow you look great maru!
Penny:wait why are you guys out here?
Sam:um...because we wanted to walk together as a group
Elliot:i cam because leah asked me
leah:sorry, he's my first go to when it comes to doing anything
Shane:wow y/n you suit looks really cool
Emily:she does doesn't she! It fits her so well!
Seb:Are you guys ok?
Abby:...yeah its just weird that youre all here
Y/N:sam i told you not to come up here!

I bonked his head. He winced and held his hair. I put on my hoodie and covered up, i felt really self conscious about my outfit. Hayley wore a really cute pink two piece that made her look amazing, Emily wore a hand made 1 piece that could turn into a 2 piece if she ripped a part off the stomach. Abby wore a purple two piece with little pink skulls. Maru wore a one piece, it was pretty plain but it looked really good on her. Penny also wore a one piece but it looked older, it fit her fine but still. Then i wore a black two piece with little red dots on it. I wore the old hoodie seb gave me, it was so comfy and the hole made me feel a lot better. We all walked in a group, shane and emily were together talking about something that happened at the pub with clint and seb walked with me and abby.

Abby: you know before y/n came everyone was in even pairs.
Y/N:abby.
Abby:no i mean its weird to think about now! I'm sorry i shoulda thought that out
Seb:i have a great idea, y/n take my arm.

I took his hand instead and we walked away from her. I know she means well but it kinda hurts when she points out the obvious. I mean i can see that I'm making it uneven...and i still feel like a bother most of the time when they are all around now. But i know i just need to let it go and move on. We saw the rest of the town all at the beach, gus was making fish tacos and other fish related foods. Willy was wishing happily on the Pierre, he seemed happy people were around him and that he got 1$ food since he provided the meat. Everyone soon found their spots. Abby sat close to her dads little stand that he had set up.

Seb:hey wanna sit here?
Sam:yeah come join us!
Harvey:hey maru, wanna sit with me?
Maru:actually I'm gonna sit with y/n. Thanks though harvey

We all set our stuff out and i sat down, i started to take my hoodie off when i felt my top slip off. I guess I didn't tie it right. Shane came up next to me and sat down while seb went to get some drinks.

Shane:hey what's with the hoodie. You look good you should show off.
Y/N:um...well i just
Seb:yeah, you should take it off.

I started blushing at the sentence. Then i looked at the both of them.

Y/N:well um I didn't tie the bra on right. It slipped off and I'm just trying to tie it back.

Both of them blushed and looked away.

Shane:do you want help?
Seb:i could help!
Y/N:um its ok guys.
Emily:hey! Hey y/n are you ok? You look scared. Are these two pestering you?
Y/N:can you tie my bra back. I messed it up and now it slipped off!

Emily blushed too. And looked down bashfully.

Emily:I'm really sorry, y/n i honestly would love to help but i think that would be disrespectful
Y/N:..wait why?
Emily:because i have a crush on you. And i dont want to make you uncomfortable
Y/N:oh. Um ok, seb do you mind then?

He remained silent. He nodded and only lifted enough to see the ties. He made sure they were tight and i took my hoodie off. I wasn't sure if i should talk to emily, she seems to understand in a way. But maybe i should still do it.

Emily:oh hello again.
Y/N:em, this is no disrespect but...i dont want to be with anyone. I told shane the same thing a few weeks ago. I just want to find happiness on my own before i let anyone in like that.
Emily:but what about Sebastian? He seems to be head over heels for you and the way you talk about him on your streams it seems like you are the same?
Y/N:i like him sure, but i dont know if its really that deep just yet. I mean i feel the same way around shane too. And frankly around sam. Sometimes with abby when shes being nice and not getting jealous but...its weird i guess. To me this isn't more than friendship and thinking about dating any of them scares me. It makes me not want to be around them.
Emily:I understand. You might want to tell that to Abby too. I know it seems like shes in love with seb but...its really not him. I know.
