A New Beginning

Year 2.

*a rush through this year*

Lewis called me to his house. He wanted to talk to me about the community center. He told me that with my help we could fix it and maybe joja wont take over. I agreed to help but when i went inside i saw what looked like junimo from that little game in the saloon. I saw a little plaque on the floor but couldnt read it.

Wizard:what are you doing here?
Y/N:i was asked to help fix it. So i was going to look at the damage.
Wizard:..can you see them?
Y/N:yeah. They look like junimo from that video game.
Wizard:they are. Do you truly want to help?

We worked on the plan together. That night I decided to stream again.

Abby:Hey how have you been it feels like a whole year since we streamed together
Y/n:i think it has been. Ive barley streamed this year. Not really on purpose though.
Shane:you streamed i think twice this year and i missed the one in fall.
Seb:oh yeah i only caught the one you did in the summer.
Sam:yeah me too
Abby:but you have fixed up the town all year long. And you helped that little boy from the island.
Y/N:yeah he's a cool kid. I hope Linus and him get along.
Seb:so...why did you start fixing up the town this year? I mean you did a great job. We have a movie theater now which is cool
Y/N:oh yeah i just...i dont know. Lewis asked and i was willing.
Sam:that's really nice of you.
Shane:so what are your plans for this up coming year?
Seb:oh yeah it'll be your third year now.
Y/N:i have a plan. But ill ruin it as the year goes on ok?

They all laughed a little. we talked about leah and elliots baby and how it looks just like them. It was 3am now. It feels kinda sad. Nothing happened to me that was good or bad. All this years festivals felt like a blur. It was still a good year though, i mean our town looks and feels like a better more tight nit community. As i went to take a shower i heard seb come in the house.

Seb:y/n. We need to talk
Y/N:I'm in the shower, what's up?
Seb:i...i am leaving stardew.

No. Please no.

Y/N:w..what
Seb:not forever just...for the spring. I got a really good job but its only for the spring. I wanted you to know.
Y/n:oh um ok. I hope..i uh

I got out of the shower, my head fuzzed back to when he kissed me. He said he wanted to stay in stardew now....so why was he leaving. I didnt see he was on my bed twiddling his thumbs as he talked.

Seb:oh yoba! Sorry i didnt think you were done yet!

I was wearing the towel. He didnt see anything...i dont think. I walked out of the bathroom and set my hand on his head.

Y/n:seb i hope you have a great time...and i hope it's everything you need and want.
Seb:...y...n i i um if you want me to stay i will happily
Y/N:seb its a job that you want. I'm not holding you back.

He nodded and gave me a hug. He left. He had called his mom and texted the group chat every few days. He ended up staying the whole year.

I fixed up the town during the year, it didn't take long. Joja left the town and we made a movie theater in its place. willy had asked me to help fix his boat. It was fixed by winter. I was actually grateful for all the distractions....without them I don't think I woulda been able to deal with a year without seb. Every rainy day I'd go to the beach and just wait for him. I knew he wouldn't be there but I still waited. Soon Emily and Shane were married, so were Alex and Hayley. Sam and Abby weren't ready for marriage yet but they talked about it on stream a few times. A boy named Leo from ginger island moved in and Linus adopted him. The year ended and seb was still gone. He was supposed to come home in a few days but....he never stopped telling us how happy he was out there.

Seb:no its amazing. The job is really fun and everyone is like..must as antisocial as me
Abby:thats great, seb
Sam:so...does that mean you're staying?
Seb:well I'm almost done with the job. Its one more thing and that should honestly be done by this afternoon.
Abby:wait so can you make it to the feast?!
Seb:oh I'm not sure if I should
Y/n:why?

My voice was shaky. I hadn't actually spoken during the FaceTime just sat there.

Seb:um...I'm..Its alot of gas.
Y/n:oh ok.
Abby:well we are still doing a stream tonight right?
Y/n:im still down
Sam:yes!
Seb:yeah i should be free.

During the streams id act like nothing changed. I didn't want the stream vibe to change.

It was the first of spring, my 3rd year. And seb wasn't home.
