I arrived home after netball club. My stomach was grumbling ferociously. I couldn't wait to eat dinner. After all these strange happenings all I wanted to do was eat and discuss everything with Soph.
I wasn't sure if Sophia was home yet. I decided to get undressed and have a hot shower. When I got to my bedroom there was a nice hot drink at my bedside that my mum must have left for me. To be honest, all I wanted was to drink that hot drink and fall asleep.
I was so exhausted after that one match. I gulped the tea down. As I did, I looked out of my bedroom window and couldn't believe what I was seeing. My eyes stared in shock!
Right in front of our hedge were Shannon and Nicole shouting at a young girl. My heart began to beat very fast. What were they both doing outside my house? The young girl looked like a first-year student. 'Don't ever talk back to us! Just because we're not in school, doesn't mean we can't find you. Remember never ever talk back to us!' shouted Shannon viciously.
From what I could see, the young girl hadn't spoken a word back to either of them. She looked very afraid. Tears were rolling down her cheeks. Two minutes after Shannon began shouting, Nicole pushed the young girl violently against our hedge. The young girl tried to get away but it didn't work.
Once again, Nicole pushed the young girl into our hedge. I began to get annoyed. How could she push and hurt the girl so much? There was a massive dent in our hedge as well.
I didn't understand how Shannon and Nicole ended up outside my house specifically. Were they going to come after me once they had dealt with the young girl? My head became blurry and full of confused thoughts. Why were they deliberately damaging our hedge? Was it because they knew Sophia and I lived here?
Now I became sure that Shannon had noticed Sophia had deliberately tripped Nicole up in the canteen. Maybe I should tell Soph to be careful when she tries to lift objects or even people! I just couldn't make any sense of what I was seeing. I began worrying that my father might arrive home from work and get hurt by them.
If my father saw what was happening outside, he would probably take us out of the school. I don't think he could handle us attending a school that was attracting this kind of bullying behaviour. I wasn't sure why Sophia or my mother hadn't noticed any of this happening outside. My whole body began sweating profusely.
Suddenly the young girl managed to escape. She ran off very fast! Nicole took her cigarette and threw it at her. 'We're going to get you,' chuckled Shannon loudly. Although I was in complete shock, I was thankful that the young girl had managed to run away.
I took a deep breath and wiped the sweat off my forehead on the back of my hand. Shannon and Nicole carried on smoking like nothing had happened. From what I had seen of them since I had joined Lowlands, their careless behaviour was definitely normal and they truly didn't seem to care about anyone they were hurting.
I wondered how they actually behaved at home, if they thought it was okay to behave like this outside of school too. All these thoughts continued to whizz around in my head, until two minutes later and both Shannon and Nicole were staring up at me through the window. I had never felt so scared in my life.
Shannon and Nicole both started pointing and laughing at me. 'We're gonna get you Olivia!' I became so nervous and worried. I realised it was all my fault. I shouldn't have been watching them through the window. Even though they were hurting the young girl, it was really none of my business. I felt really stupid for watching them.
Now they also knew where I lived too. I had dragged myself into unnecessary mess. I looked back out of the window and they continued to point and laugh at me. I didn't understand why they were pointing at me. It didn't make any sense. I had never done anything wrong to either of them. My confidence began to shrink and I began sweating from my face all the way down my neck.
