The day was here!!! It was Lowlands' biggest show of the year, the Charity Fashion Show! I couldn't concentrate in my Biology class that morning. Everyone was talking about the Fashion Show. 'We need to practise our moves,' said Rachel to her best buddy Katie.
Another group of girls had short tight glitter dresses in their school bags. I hadn't brought my outfit or makeup to school with me as all participants were allowed to go home early to get changed for the show. I wanted to relax and get ready for the show properly. History was my next lesson before lunch break and then at 3pm, all fashion show participants were allowed to go home.
I arrived home later that day and felt like taking a nap. I knew this was just nerves. I kept myself calm and went to the kitchen to make a hot drink and grab some food. I took small sips of the drink and heard Sophia walk through the front door. There was leftover rice and chicken from yesterday's dinner, so I warmed the food up and quickly ate some.
Sophia popped her head through the kitchen door. 'Lets start packing our outfits Olivia, we need to pack our makeup too,' she said. 'Sophia I've just warmed some leftovers up. Why don't you eat some and then we can start getting ready,' I said.
After dinner both of us went upstairs to pack our clothes and makeup for the fashion show. I took all my stuff out of the wardrobe and put them into a big holdall bag. Sophia also slipped an iron into the bag in case our outfits got crushed by the time we got to the hall.
We also put all our makeup in large makeup bags each. 'Soph I'm really feeling nervous. I can feel butterflies in my stomach,' I said. 'Olivia, come over here. Let's practise our catwalk moves.' Soph rolled out two yoga mats and we walked up and down, posing and smiling in front of the mirror.
Sophia was going to wear a white dress with small blue and silver stars across it and my outfit was a white dress with small pink and gold stars across it. As both of us finished up getting ready, Lucy and Priyanka messaged me and said 'Best of luck.'
The nerves really started to kick in. The show was approaching and it was possibly one of the most important nights of my school life ever.
We took a cab straight to school. It felt so strange going to school so late. It was starting to get dark and the moon was starting to make an appearance in the sky as the sun went down. The air was cool and mild. Everything seemed fine and going well.
We arrived on time with enough time for us to get ready before we went on to stage. There were large groups of students gathered outside the main entrance and also around the school hall entrance. Everyone looked excited!
As we walked into the school building. Right there in front of my eyes was gorgeous Ethan! He was all dressed up looking very handsome. I think he could see me staring at him. Beautiful Amelia was also walking around the corridor and gave me a sweet smile.
Grace, Priyanka and Lucy were standing in the corridor in their outfits looking dazzling. 'Olivia you look amazing. Watch out for us, we are due to walk the catwalk after you guys,' said Lucy.
'Oh I'm looking forward to seeing you guys do your thing,' I said. 'We got here early to change into our outfits so we're just waiting to go on stage,' said Priyanka. 'Well I wish you all good luck Lucy and please cheer for us when Soph and I are on the catwalk,' I said. 'Olivia, lets go and get changed, I'm worried about the space in the changing rooms,' said Soph.
When we entered the changing rooms, it was bustling full of girls. Dresses, makeup gossiping and giggling. I had never seen the school so full and vibrant before. There was a huge mix of girls from across year groups getting changed altogether.
There were large groups of four or five girls standing together but there were also smaller groups of just two or three girls as well. Mrs Henry, the dance teacher, was helping everyone with dressing up and keeping the lighting and music organised too.
