It was cold.

Jrumbot had gotten tired of seeing the same expanse of void for weeks, maybe months. He was alone now, had been for a while.

"Jrum? Jrum are you here?"

The voice cut through the thin air. Mumbo. That was dad. Jrum tried to respond back, but he was living solely on a battery saver now. So tired, so cold.

Footsteps, sounding like metal on stone. There was someone in front of him, picking him up with care. "MUMBO. I FOUND HIM."

Another pair of footsteps, running.

Mumbo hurried over, taking the small robot into his arms. "Oh Jrum, there you are. Let's get you back home, okay? Get you charged and all cleaned up."

Jrumbot nodded, already dozing off.

______________

"Aww, he's so cute!" Grian cooed.

"What I'm curious about," Mumbo said, unplugging the charging port, "Is how he survived taht long on battery."

Jrumbot happily lifted his hands.

There were angels! They kept me company and gave me blankets and gave me hugs!

"Angels, huh?" Mumbo smiled.

Jrumbot nodded.

They stayed with me for so long, even when it got boring. Even when nothing happened for forever, they were there!

"They really must've cared to stay for that long." Grian said. "Reminds me of an old story the watchers used to tell me and Taurtis, about spirits called 'listeners'. These spirits always knew when things would happen, and often watched over players who were alone."

"Oh, I've heard of those!" Mumbo perked up. "Though they had another name, I think. Oh yeah. We called them Readers."

"Hmm. What a strange name. Well, Bdubs just went to bed, so we all should probably turn in." Grian noted. "See you tomorrow."

Mumbo smiled. "See you tomorrow."

He turned back and looked at Jrumbot.

Angels, huh. Readers, listeners. Whatever the case, he was glad Jrumbot was okay and was finally home and safe.

Mumbo breathed a sigh of relief. It was all back to normal.

Well, for now at least.

END

___________

Ten and a half months. That's how long this book took. Thank you to everyone who stayed this long and was patient with me. There will be a third book in the future, but I don't know how soon that will happen, considering the chaos that will be my summer. For now, I would like to turn to a couple other projects, mainly TBGD and getting my unfinished stuff done.

Well, it's really been a long ride. For now there's one thing I can say.

Stay safe my fellow seekers, I'll see y'all soon :)
