Chapter twenty-two

*one month later!*

It has been a good month. A few weeks ago we had started track. And we've been going to track meets. We're gonna have one meet here at our school on friday, so Shawn will get to cheer me on. Spencer and i have been hanging out too, but i always make sure we're around friends, so he wouldn't get the wrong idea. it was tuesday and we had pratcie today. After practice, Jordynn, Shawn, Cameron, Alivia, Emmah, AJ, Adrienne, and Garrett B. Are gonna hang out at this new place in town. It's suppost to be really cool, so i can't wait until after practice.

Shawn was walking me to class, when i got a text from Spencer. It was a little funny. He was just talking about the last meet and how AJ and Alan were dancing weird on the bus. I did a slight laugh,"What's so funny?" Asked Shawn smiling,"Oh, nothing, it's just something Spencer said." I said,"Oh." Said Shawn in a soft upset way,"Okay, what's up?" I asked pulling him closer towards me,"It's just...remember when we met again?" Asked Shawn,"Yes, the best day of my life." I said then kiss him,"Yes, but, when you saw me again, you got those feelings for me." Said Shawn,"So?" I asked,"So? What if you do the same with Spencer?" Asked shawn. I sigh,"I won't, i don't want to be with Spencer, i wanna be with you." I said. Shawn nods then kisses me. He and i smile at each other then walk to our classes.

I wouldn't do that to Shawn. I love him. Not Spencer. Spencer and i did have something special, but when he cheated on me, i just couldn't believe that. Things were never the same, even when i did seem happy, i felt different with Spencer after what happened. And when i met Shawn, it was like a ray of sunshine is always in my life. I want to be with Shawn. There's no one i'd rather be with in this world.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when Mr. Wallas was calling my name,"What?" I asked confused,"I was asking you what the answer was." Said Mr. Wallas,"I'm sorry, i just didn't hear you." I said,"I'll let that one slide Ms. Horan, but you need to pay attention in class." Said Mr. Wallas. I nod my head and pay attention to the rest of his lecture on something i didn't reallt understand. I still thought about Shawn and how uncomfortable he felt about Spencer and i hanging out just as friends. We are only friends, and that's all we're ever going to be.

(Spencer's pov)

I wish i knew a good way to tell Maddie that i still love her. Maybe i should just keep it inside. I know that keeping your feelings inside isn't good, because you just might explode. But i can't tell her i love her when she's dating another guy. I just wish we could have just stayed together. But she just doesn't feel the same way. And i think some of that was because of me cheating on her. I just wish i could change that past, but i can't, and i hate that.

(Back to Maddie's pov)

*Gym!*

We had yet another free day, since Mr. Jackson was at a meeting and we had a sub today. Nikki, Jordynn, Alivia, Emmah, Adrienne, and i were in a circle talking with each other,"So, why have you been ignoring Spencer?" Asked Emmah,"I don't think Shawn likes us hanging out together." I said,"But that's why we've been hanging out with you guys, making sure he doesn't try anything." Said Nikki,"Yeah, but he's just scared something will happen and he won't be able to do anything." I said. They nodded,"But i love him, and i don't love Spencer like that, i just wanna be with Shawn." I said,"Yeah, i know." Said Emmah. I look over at Spencer who was talking with some of the guys. I looked back at my friends and talked with them. I brushed off the whole Spencer thing and thought more of Shawn. And how much i couldn't wait until after practice.

*At Practice!*

Today we were running around town. We usually just ran with friends, our coach had a strict no couples run around town. He thinks we'll just sneak off and just goof off. Whatever that means, but anyways, i just decided to hang out with my buds and just hang around Shawn later. Shawn and i talked with each other for a little bit before we had to run around town,"Okay, let's run around town kids." Said Mr. Marson. We all went to our running groups,"I'll see ya later beautiful." Said Shawn kissing my hands then release them from his grasp,"Okay, i'll see ya later dimples." I said then we both laugh. I walk towards Jordynn, Nikki, Emmah, Adrienne, and Alivia,"Awe." They mocked each other,"Shut up." I said then we all laugh. We all got our coats, since it was a little windy, causing it to be a little chilly, and went off into the town to run.
