Chapter 28: please?

Luke's POV

"But we can't be together right now.." She said hesitantly.

"Babe, why?" I asked.

"I need some time to think about things.."

"But you already know you love me, right?" She shook her head yes, as a tear rolled down her cheek. "Then why do you need to think?"

"It's just- it's- Ughh, it's that I don't know if I can ever trust you again.." She said breaking down.

"Babe, I'm so sorry, none of this was a lie. I was just a freaking idiot for not telling you sooner. You can trust me! I promise! Please?" I had the ring in my pocket, and I handed it to her.

"Luke, I am so confused right now. You're not even mad at me for making out with Calum? He is probably broken hearted right now.. I feel like I am causing trouble."

"Please, just take the ring and think. At least I will know that's you will give me another chance." I said holding the ring out to her.

"Okay I'll take it." She said grabbing it and putting it in her finger.
"But, I think I need to go back home. I need to be away to think."

"No please stay!" I pleaded.

"I'm sorry, but maybe this is for the best. I'll have some time away to think about us and I'll call you a lot too." She said half smiling.

"Is this what you really want?" I asked taking her hand.

"Yes, right now it is." She said looking at out hands.

"I'll get you a flight tomorrow to take to Texas. " I fake smiled.

"Thank you so much." She kissed my cheek.

"Let's go tell the guys." I said getting up still holding her hand.

"Haley will be leaving tomorrow." I said breaking heavily.

Haley was packing in her room so it was just me and the guys.

"What?" Calum said with disbelief.

"Yeah, she needs to go back home and think things through with me and her."

The guys were upset she was leaving. I mean, who can blame them. She is amazing.

"Can I talk to you?" Calum said pulling me aside

"Look Luke, I'm sorry. I did like Haley first, but it's not like you, you love her. Haley is like. Sister to me, nothing more. I did kiss her because I was jealous of you. I want a relationship like you and Haley have well, er, had I guess." He said letting out a breath.

"It's all good Calum, I understand. Thank you." I said hugging him.

"So Haley is really leaving?" He asked changing the subject.

"Yeah, tomorrow morning." I said sighing.

"Don't worry, you love each other. You will make it work." He said patting me on the back.

Hopefully." I said sadly.
