Katrina here and yes, I am a werewolf.  I know you all have read several books written by other werewolves and a lot of them were treated badly by their pack.  My pack does not treat me that way they respect me.  I know part of the reason they are treated badly is that their packs hate them.   Well as for me no, my pack does not hate me they love me.  Even everyone in our school loves me.  Well, all of them except Genevive, mainly because she has been after Thomas my Beta. Yep, I am the soon-to-be Alpha but no one knows who is not in our pack.   Genevive is from another pack...oops, I should let you know we go to an all-supernatural school.  Yep, all supernatural in other words there are witches, warlocks, dwarfs, pixies, demons, angels, trolls (not the kind in Harry Potter), and gnomes to name a few.  

Since the school is all supernatural everyone knows everything including about mates.  Genevive keeps claiming to be Tom's mate and that she is the future Luna of our pack even though Tom says otherwise.  He never corrects her about his position only because I have told him not to say anything to let people think what they want.  He understands as does the rest of our pack since we had moved here two years ago and the last school we were in was an all-werewolf school and I had guys trying to claim to by my mate so they could be Alpha and people trying to be my friend for the same reason.  So, when my Uncle passed away with no living heir he passed his pack on to me and we merged the two together.  Since his pack was the bigger pack we moved to his territory.  Now don't get me wrong we still run our territory and we had a witch friend put an enchantment on the land so our retired commanders could use it as a retirement village.

Genevive does not give up and has tried to cause problems for me telling everyone that I am keeping her from her mate because I am selfish.  Little does she know that everyone knows who her real mate is and it is not an Alpha.  Nope, it is a regular member of her own pack but she has rejected him.  She likes to think by rejecting him she will get to choose her mate and she's in for a world of hurt when she realizes that she will not get to choose her mate but end up alone.  The Moon Goddess is not very forgiving when you reject your mate.  The rejected mate gets a second chance mate it is usually another rejected mate or a mate that lost their first mate.   The only way a wolf can get a second chance mate after rejecting their chosen mate is by proving to the moon Goddess they have repented or that their mate was unfaithful.  Sometimes if they are lucky their first mate forgives them and takes them back.  I for one think rejected mates are crazy for forgiving their first mate.  Not as crazy as the wolves that forgive a cheating mate.  I don't understand how they could forgive their mate after they had sex with another wolf.  Not just from the emotional betrayal but also the physical.

Yep, after we are marked by our mate we can feel what they feel.  Yep, we feel their emotions and can read their minds.  It is not exactly like the pack link.  The pack link only shows us what the other person wants us to know.  Sometimes we can hear a stray thought if the person lets his or her guard down but we can't feel them getting horny or how they feel about someone.  As for the mate bond that is different.   They can block you out if they are starting to get sexually aroused but once they start to act on it not only does the betrayed mate feel their arousal they also feel excruciating pain through our hearts.  I believe it is the moon Goddess's way of letting the betrayed mate know so they could reject their mate.  Yep, the betrayed mate can reject the cheating mate and still get a second chance mate.  As for the cheating mate, they will become mateless.  

As for how the connection works all it takes is for the mates to accept each other verbally.  Once they accept each other the mate bond is forming.  The marking makes the bond stronger but is not necessary since the connection is already forming long before we have to actually have sex or mate as we say.  Well except for those of Alpha blood.  Our connection starts once we recognize our mate.  It is to ensure a strong Alpha line.
