13. GETTING TO KNOW YOU

Looking into Tom's eye, she nodded and chugged the whole bottle.  I smiled at Tom as he jumped up and down in joy.  He was so happy that she was willing to prove that she was Tom's true mate even with her life on the line.  All of us cheered for Tom and I just had to go there yelling "way to go Tommy Boy."  He of course glared at me as his mate cocked an eyebrow "Why do you call him Tommy Boy?"  I giggled as Tom groaned "I call him Tommy Boy because when we were 3 Willie told him that a Boy could not be a girl's best friend.  So, he decided to dress up as a girl by stealing one of my dresses.  Of course, it didn't fit him and you could see the bottom of his underwear and well..."  "Trinny please stop."  I laughed harder "I told him Tommy you're a boy, not a girl.  He would not relent so the whole day I ran around yelling at him off and on Tommy you're a boy."  Brenda laughed "I take it eventually it changed to Tommy Boy."  "Yep, and whenever I want to tease him I call him Tommy Boy."

He groaned and glared at me until Brenda giggled "Tom babe I think it is sweet that you wanted to keep your best friend no matter what.  I find it admirable that you were willing to pretend to be a girl so you could keep her."  He blushed about 50 shades of red.  I flung my arm over his shoulder "Tom no matter how much I tease you.  I want you to know I don't know what I would do without you.  Looks like you will be all I have to help lead the pack."  "Don't say that you will find your mate."  "Tom I think he was at the lake.  When the wind shifted a piece of his clothing came my way as you know.  Before that, we were upwind from him.  He would have smelled me but he didn't come to claim me.  It has to mean he doesn't want me and I am ok with that.  I do not need a mate."

We all headed inside and I let Tom and Brenda spend some quality time together.  Even though they claimed to want me around I explained that the two of them needed to let their mate bond grow.  That me being present would not help them in slowly becoming one.  Lucky for me Ashley pushed Manny to make them go have mate time.

TOM POV

I didn't want to leave Trina alone because I know that she is having a hard time with being rejected and dealing with being used.  If I get my hands on that asshole I will rip his head off.  No one messes with my bestie.  Brenda ran her hand down my back "Tom baby please come back to me.  I know you are thinking about Alpha Katrina but right now there is nothing we can do to help her.  She needs to be able to move on by herself."  I look at her "I know Bren but it is hard not being able to help her.  She has always been so strong not letting anyone use her when the skanks and jerks in school knew she was the Future Alpha at our old school.  Not to mention she put several supernatural beings in their place at our new school once word got out that she was the Future Alpha."  "What do you mean?"  "We used to attend a human school back at our old territory."  "Wait what?"  

I laughed "about two years ago Triny's Uncle Lucian passed away and seeing as he had no pups his land reverted to his next closest living relative.  That being Luna Bet since he was her brother.  Alpha Eralio and Luna Bet decided since Alpha Lucian had the bigger pack we would all move there and combine packs.  We kept our old pack land for retired leaders and the elders of our pack.  It is protected by several magical spells to keep them safe.  When we arrived Alpha Eralio knew how much Trina hated being fawned over and used at our previous school so he Alpha ordered the whole pack to keep the identity of our Future Alpha a secret.  Unfortunately for me, several she-wolves assumed it was me since I am from the commanding line.  A lot of people assumed that Trina had no rank."  "Wait how she gives off a strong aura."  I couldn't help but chuckle one of her gifts is that she can hide her aura."  "Since I had the strongest aura out of all the commanding lines they knew of..."  

"They just assumed it was you."  "Yep, we never corrected them or confirmed it.  Unfortunately, when she was rejected she had to use her full name and title to accept, and well..."   "The cat was out of the bag."  "Yep, I was called names and girls told me I was disgusting and Trina stood by my side reminding them that no one ever told them who our Future Alpha was.  That it was not my fault or hers that they were all sexist pigs assuming the Future Alpha would be male."  She giggled "let me guess several she-wolves tried to be her bestie in hopes of her introducing them to other single Alphas and she put them in place along with wolves claiming her as their mate."

I couldn't help but laugh my ass off "yep, how did you even know?"  She giggled "Easy when I tackled her thinking she was trying to steal what was mine she put me in my place fast.  It is obvious she doesn't take shit from anyone.  Plus the way you and the rest of the commanding line act around her now that she is hurting let's me know that she does not normally behave this way."  She giggled "Plus my sister has told me stories about you guys.  I do need to know did she really kick Alpha Xavier's butt once."  Laughing I shook my head "more than once.  She has kicked his butt multiple times since she was 15."

I cleared my throat "Bren I need to tell you something before we mark each other."  "Ok, what is it, Tom?  I know it can't be you have a kid since everyone said you're pure."  I groaned "yeah I am a virgin.  This has nothing to do with that.  Have you learned about the prophecy?"  "Yes, and before you say anything with what you have told me about her being rejected, both of you being tricked, and the fact your wolves are twins I know it is about us."  I smiled "I take it you are all in no matter what."  "I thought I proved that when I was willing to die for us."  "That you did Bren.  That you did."

UNKNOWN POV

I made it back to the packhouse only to be stopped by my brother's other Beta Lysander. "Tristan you need to head over to the Gleaming Sun Pack." "Why do I need to go over there? Johnathan is there now visiting Sarah." "I don't know he just linked me that you are needed there. Oh, if you head over to the lake there is a future commanding line visiting and it sounds like when their Alpha is upset she needs a body of water to help calm her down." "Yeah, I saw her and some guy when I was by the lake." "OK, did they cross the border?" "No." "OK, good. If you are out there when they show up if they cross just let them know where the boundary line is located." I nod my head "well I guess I am heading out." "Wait you are going to be there a few days so take some clothes." "What is going on?"

"The visiting pack is being trained to take over leadership. Turns out the Beta and Alpha have had some problems with their mates and to help them deal with what has been happening his Majesty wants them trained separately. Plus it looks like they are way ahead of the game so you are really only going over there to help administer the contingency tests." I nod my head and head to my room to pack a bag. Once that was done I head to one of our pack members' house that is mated to a witch to ask her for a potion to mask my scent. There is no way I am going to let my mate know who I am just to have her reject me.

Before crossing the border I take the potion and hope that I will not need the second vial since they each last for three days. I just have to make sure I don't touch her or else that will give me away. I make my way to the packhouse after checking in with the guards and am greeted by my brother, Alpha Mortimer, Beta Maxwell, that girl, and the guy from the lake plus another girl. I watched as the guy had one arm wrapped around the extra girl's waist and stood next to the one from the lake. I felt sorry for the extra girl since the guy kept one eye on his girlfriend. I wonder how long before he rejects his Goddess-given mate.

Alpha Mortimer introduced me to Future Alpha Katrina and she took over and introduced me to her Beta Thomas and his mate Brenda. Wait, she is acting like she is happy that he has found his mate. I hear someone yell out "Trina" and she turns cocking an eyebrow at him. "What's up, Willie?" "Alpha Eralio called and he needs you to call him back ASAP." "Why?" "Please you know he will not tell me." She nods as that Tom guy drapes an arm around her shoulder "come on Triny you know Uncle Eralio is more than likely just checking up on you."

I hear a phone ring and she looks at that Willie guy and takes the phone he hands her. Turning to Tom she says "I don't think that is why he is calling. This is Xavy." She picked up the phone "what is going on Zavy?" The guy says something that has her face pale she looks at Tom and he pulls her in closer "what is it Triny?" "OK, Zavy I promise I will stay close to the packhouse." "Triny what the hell is going on?" "OK, I will let everyone know." "Oh, hey dad." "Like I told Zavy I promise I will stick close to the packhouse and the guys." "I have to go Tommy Boy is freaking out." "Ok, dad love you too give mom a big hug from me. Oh and Tom's rents as well."

Before she could open her mouth I hear "WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN HE ESCAPED?" Tom looked at Future Alpha Katrina "who escaped Triny I know it has to do with you since you tensed up. Please tell me it wasn't that asshat William." She nodded her head " "What do you mean Triny?" "Tom Tom please don't let him get me." "What the hell is he going to do?" My heart started beating out of my chest as I watched her pass out and before I could stop myself my wolf pushed forward and lunged for her pulling her into my arms. "MINE"
