11. HEARTBREAK

I can't believe my luck.  First, my mate rejects me for my brother because he is the Alpha.  She claimed that he was her mate and that I was just some loser trying to get with the most popular girl in school.  Yeah right Please she has slept with most of the pack plus other packs around.  She bragged to everyone that she was my brother's mate and the future Luna.  Little did she know that my brother had already found his mate two years ago but because of her age he had left her in her pack.  Since she wouldn't get her wolf until she turned eighteen he didn't see the harm in her enjoying her life. Plus her parents were not too keen on her leaving until she was able to recognize the mate bond.   

The good thing was that her parents were more than willing to let him visit her regularly so he didn't feel the pain of not being near his mate.  The other good thing was that her father was extremely old-fashioned and would not allow her to date anyone that was not her mate.  He did find out that she already had her first kiss and that even though she never went out on a date she had boyfriends in the past.  She even admitted to him that since she had seen girls have their hearts broken when their boyfriends find their mates she broke up with her last one and was waiting for her mate.  

I really didn't think my brother would be able to keep it in his pants since before he met his mate Sarah he had many bed partners.  I used to get so disgusted with him and his many conquests.  I had heard a rumor about two commanding lines from different packs having a celibacy pact so they could wait for their mates and thought it was a good idea.  So, I have been saving myself for my mate even with all the ridicule I receive from my brother and the rest of his commanding line.  Yeah, I may be one of the Betas but I am the only male of the commanding line that is a virgin and they do love to pick on me.  Yep, my brother has two Betas since my dad wanted me as Beta and he had promised his Best-Friend he could be Beta.

I really didn't want to be Beta but my dad would not relent and insisted that I had to be Beta.  Luckily for my brother, our dad accepted him having two.  Of course, since I am the last of the commanding line that is unmated my brother is trying to get me to go out and look for my second chance mate.  I can't get him to understand I do not want a mate after what Olive did to me.  What makes everything worse is that she is constantly going over to Alpha Mortimer's pack to sleep with his Beta even though she claims to be my brother's mate.  She tells him it is to see her friend Tina who is also sleeping with the Beta and tries to claim Alpha Mortimer as her mate.  Really these girls need to get over themselves

I decided to head over to the lake that we share with Alpha Mortimer's pack so I could sit and think about what is going on around me when I heard...

Trina's POV

After breakfast, we all made our way to our training locations. When his Majesty and Alpha Mortimer started explaining why having the pack link blocked would help out all the commanding line I felt Tom's mischievous side nudge me. Little Alpha I am soooo bored." "Dito." "What are they telling you?" "All the crap about why we need to be able to communicate without the link." I soon hear a throat clear and I look up "Yes?" Mortimer looked confused "didn't you hear anything we said?" "OH, that it is important for myself and all my commanding line to be able to communicate without the link in case we are in a situation where it is blocked." "OK good."

His Majesty started mentioning how it was my job to keep my pack safe. That I was also responsible for making sure all the businesses that help keep the pack sustained are working at high efficiency. He also mentioned that I had to make sure that all my commanding line were doing their job. I was starting to fall asleep when Alpha Mortimer explained to me that it was time for my physical training. He let me know that I was going to be sparing against his top warriors one at a time. Depending on how I reacted to the sparing matches would determine what was going to happen next.
