"Oh fuck that shit."
Neil just laughed and looked at me before continuing to laugh some more.
"It's not funny, that's disgusting."
There was snail on the table.
"Just try it," he encouraged.
"Never," I hissed.
"Come on, it's not that bad."
"You've had it before?" I raised my eyebrows in suspicion.
"Well, I wouldn't have ordered it without a reason," he responded.
We were sitting in a fancy restaurant (don't ask me why because I don't know) and he order fucking snail as our appetizer. He said "it's a delicacy" and "you have to try it" and I responded with a very lady like "hell no" but the bastard ordered it anyways.
"No," I decided.
"For me?" I looked up at his hazel eyes and my god, that boy could start world war three with that face. I took a deep breath before giving him one last glare and plopped the damned thing in my mouth.
Chew.
Chew.
Chew.
Pause.
Intense gagging.
"Jesus Christ!" I choked out. "That's bloody disgusting!" I sputtered. I grabbed my water and began guzzling it like I was a fish out of water.
"Oh my god" Neil wheezed, "your face- you should have seen your face!"
After a moment of struggling not to gag, Neil eventually stopped laughing. His face was pink from laughter and his dimple had popped out from the wide grin stretched across his face.
"I can't believe you tried it," he chuckled.
"What do you mean?"
"How bad was it?" he asked curiously.
"It was horr-wait. You said you tried it!" I pointed an accusing finger at him.
"I never said that," he responded with a poker face.
"You little sh-"
"Language, Ana," he teasingly scolded me. "Come on let's go," he threw a twenty on the table and stood up.
"Wait, aren't we going to eat?"
"Yeah," he put on his jacket.
"Why are we leaving?"
"Well, we aren't going to eat here," he explained.
"Then why did we come?!" I said exasperatedly.
"I thought it would be funny."
"Did you plan this?" I demanded.
"It was a last minute decision."

Thirty minutes later, Neil and I were sitting across from each other at the local Chinese place only a block from the University, and I chewed on my very typical but very delicious orange chicken.
"How's your food?" he questioned while taking a bite.
"Better than snail," I sassed. Neil bit back a laugh. "It's really good," I murmured truthfully while eyeing him, discreetly checking out that jawline. Damn.
