Y/n's POV

My uncle lead me into the living room while my aunt checked on her son and we started to talk a little.

"So, what have you been up to all these years?" he asked.

I hung my head thinking about all the things I'd done. I didn't think it was best to start off with all of that so I gave a vague answer. "A lot."

"What happened?" he asked already knowing something was wrong.

"Things I regret," I said and forced to tears in my eyes to stay back.

"Hey, whatever it is, we're here for you. We want our niece back and that includes all the good or bad that comes with." he assured me.

"Yeah I don't think you want the kind of baggage I bring," I laughed nervously.

"What's going on in here?" my aunt asked when she walked in.

"Nothing, just talking a little but," my uncle said.

"Okay. So, y/n, what made you decide to come find us after all these years?" she asked.

"Well, if I'm being honest, I didn't. But someone convinced me that I should and I'm glad I listened." I said.

"This person sounds to have a big influence in your life." my aunt said suggesting she already knew who this person was to me.

"Actually, yeah. I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for them." I said truthfully. My uncle went to say something but was interrupted by his ringtone.

"I will be right back." he said and left the room once he answered the phone. I couldn't really here what he was saying.

"That's probably Tom." my aunt said.

"Who's Tom?" I asked.

"His husband." she said.

"I didn't know Uncle Jack liked guys." I said. Knowing that my uncle has a husband made me less nervous to tell them that I was about to marry a girl.

"Yeah, they've been married almost 10 years now." she said.

"Oh my god, that's amazing!" I said. I was actually excited to tell them now.

"Yeah, he's still a bit shy about it with family because at first out mom didn't accept it but she came around a few weeks before she died." she said sadly.

"I'm sorry, you guys were always much closer to everyone than we were." I said referring to my mom and sister.

"It's okay, we've coped with it." she said. "What about you? You seeing anyone?" she asked and my uncle walked back into the room.

"Tom's coming over for dinner tonight." my uncle told my aunt.

"That's fine. So, y/n any lovers?" she asked again.

"Yeah, actually, that's why I'm here." I said. "I know it's extremely short notice but Friday I'm... getting married."

"Oh my god, really?!" my uncle asked happily.

"Who's the lucky person?" my aunt asked.

"Really I'm the lucky one." I said. "Um, she's kind of a big deal."

"So, it's a girl." my aunt teased.

"Yeah and you may know her if you keep up with the news and everything." I said.

"Engaged to a celebrity, wow." my uncle teased.

"She's more than that but I think if I say who it is you might not believe me." I said and my phone started to ring. "And of course someone calls me."

I took my phone out of my pocket and checked the caller I.D. it was Tony.

"Hello," I answered.

"Y/n! You don't by any chance have Nat's ring do you?" he asked nervously.

"No, why would I have her ring?" I asked. "Tony, please tell me you did not lose that ring."

"Well, we might have misplaced it." Tony said.

"I found it! I found it!" I heard Steve yell in the back.

"Oh, Steve found it. Nevermind." Tony said.

"Where was it?" I asked.

"On Nat's finger, duh." Tony said.

"Did you guys already start drinking?" I asked.

"No, no we're just having fun." Steve said.

"Okay, let me talk to Nat, please." I said.

"Okay, he you go."

"Hello?" Natasha asked.

"Hey baby." I said.

"Oh my god! Bunny! Things are so crazy over here. I miss you." she pouted.

"I miss you, too but hey, please be careful. I don't need you with another broken arm." I laughed.

"That wasn't my fault, Bucky pushed me off the monkey bars." she said.

"Is that y/n?" I heard Sam's voice.

"No." she tried to lie.

"Give me the phone. You guys know the rule no communication till the wedding." Sam said and hung up the phone.

"Okay, fine don't say goodbye." I said and put my phone back in my pocket. "Sorry, it's her bachelorette party and they're all drunk."

"No problem, it's good to see you happy." my aunt said.

"Yeah, and hey how bout this, you can surprise us with who it is at the wedding that way you know we'll believe you." my uncle suggested.

"You sure you guys can wait that long?" I asked.

"Well, we can make guesses. We know she's an important person and she has a friend named Tony." my aunt pointed out.

"That's not much to go on." I said.

"But it's something." she replied. We continued to talk and after a couple hours my uncle's husband arrived and I stayed for dinner. The topic of what I've been doing since I left came up again after my aunt had put her kids to bed.

"There's probably no good time to talk about it but I don't think now's the time. Everything's been going so well and I'd really hate to ruin that." I explained.

"Y/n, honey, whatever it is we're here for you and we'll love you no matter what." my aunt assured me and gave me a side hug.

I wish that were true.
