What Lies Beneath The Soldier? (Natasha Romanoff × Fem!Reader)

Chapter 4

Natasha's POV

"She was trying to help you." Y/n's sister assured her.

"How old were you?" Fury asked. Apparently, there were a few additions to her story that he didn't know.

"It was my 8th birthday." she answered.

"Okay, now I'm starting to understand why you became a psycho. I think we're done here." he said and tried to take y/n out of the room but her sister stopped him.

"Not yet. She needs to see it." she said.

"We're done here, Mia." Fury said.

"No." Mia said and grabbed y/n.

"Alright, fine. Let's watch your little movie and then we're done." Fury said. There was something wrong, Fury never let anyone go against his orders even if they didn't work for him. I could feel a sense of worry flood over y/n, as if she already knew what was coming. Mia put in the tape and hit play. 

"What's your name?" asked a man but he must have been behind the camera because the only thing on the Tv was a little girl. The girl looked about 8 and like she had been crying and hadn't slept or eaten in days. "What is your name?" repeated the man.

"Y/n. (Y/n) (L/n)." said the little girl. I looked over at y/n in realization, I could see her eyes had started to water against her wishes.

"Where are you from, y/n?" the man asked.

"Long Beach...California." she said, tears slowly making their way down her face.

"Do you have any family there?" he asked.

"No." 

"Are you sure?" young y/n nodded. The man sighed, "Do it."

"No, no please." she begged. A woman with white gloves on took out a needle and stuck it in the little girls arm, pushing it's fluid's into her bloodstream.

"You know the deal," said the man. "You answer correctly you get the cure, if not you get thrown in the range."

The young y/n nodded slowly, "My mom...died, I killed her," the girl started to cry violently. I looked over to the y/n in cuffs, she had her eyes closed as tears streamed down her face. "My sister...my sister...sh-she left me." continued the girl through tears.

"No, she didn't," said the man. "She's right here." 

Another girl walked in, she looked to be about 16, she had a evil smile plastered on her face. "Hey, little sis." young y/n tried to turn her head but she couldn't due to the poison that paralyzed her.

"Oh, right. The cure." said the man followed by a snap and the woman with the vial shot the cure into the girls arm. It took a few seconds to kick in but when it did, the young y/n whipped her head around to see her sister standing there.

"Mia?" she croaked.

"Hi." young Mia said and walked closer to her. Before the tape could continue Mia paused it and bent down to whisper into y/n's ear.

"You remember this next part?" she asked. Y/n didn't respond she just stared blankly at the Tv, no emotion on her face, just empty tears that continued to flow down her pale face. Fury looked at me with a hint of worry. I'm guessing that he knows something bad is about to happen but for some reason he wasn't saying anything.

"I think that's enough." I said quickly and took the tape out of the Tv. Obviously, my actions pissed Mia off because she charged at me and pinned me against the wall by my throat.

"You should know your place little girl, or else those little friends of yours won't see their wedding day." she growled.

"Mia. Mia!" y/n yelled getting her attention. Mia whipped her head around to see her, the look of betrayal filled y/n's eyes. "Leave her alone. Just leave them alone."

"Not until you learn." she said and threw me onto the floor. Fury came rushing to my side to help me up, not that I needed it.

"We gotta go." he whispered to me.

"No." I said.

Y/n POV

 "I know what you want, just get it over with. Innocent people don't need to pay the cost of a little girls actions." I said.

"You're an assassin, innocent people die all the time because of you." she said.

"Fair point. Maybe I'm just trying to make you think I care." I said and jumped up, the cuffs fell off my wrists and I threw the hardest punch I could. It landed on her jaw and her head whipped to the side moving her entire body with her. I landed a kick in her stomach that sent her falling to the floor. I placed my foot hard on her throat keeping her down and looked over to Fury and Natasha standing by the door.

"You two okay?" I asked surprised by sincerity in my voice. They must have been surprised too because they just gave me a look. I heard Mia gasped as I held her there. "What?" I asked.

"Little sis has got a crush." she laughed. I responded by pressing my foot harder on her throat. "Come on, I've been inside your head. I know." she choked.

"You know nothing." I said and kicked her in the head, breaking her nose, and re-positioned my foot on her throat. 

"You can kill me but the others still live and continue their purpose. I know how much it means to you to find them. It's why you became Doctor Poison in the first place." she said.

"Trust it would be my pleasure to kill you, but I can't. Not anymore." I said and took my foot off her neck. I walked over to Fury and Natasha. "Do whatever you want to her, I'll be in my cage." I said and walked out of the room.
