I heard the sirens nearing the house and hopeful tears brimmed up in my eyes. My finger were pressed over Ryan's forehead wound trying desperately to stop the blood that was oozing out of his skull. I was trying to be very careful with the small pieces of glass that were still sticking out from his grievous injury. He was slipping in and out of consciousness.

Evan and Stella had passed out from the pain but their pulses were good. I had tied a tourniquet over Stella's thigh wound to stop the bleeding and for the first time in ever I was so glad I had taken that first aid class back in year 11 in high school. Evan's wounds weren't deep but he was knocked out for a long time now.

" Stay with me, baby. Help is almost here. You'll be okay. I'm not gonna let anything happen to you," I whimpered in between the sobs that were raking through my body. Ryan's eyes were half-closed and I couldn't even imagine the amount of pain that he must have been going through right now. But even then he was holding on and I was so proud of him.

He groaned in pain and clutched my hand tighter. I kept caressing his face in an effort to give him any kind of comfort I could. He coughed a little and blood spluttered out of his mouth. I was scared out of my senses. " Just hold on, Ry. " I whimpered. He opened his eyes forcefully and tried to look at me.

" Don't...cry...please, " he struggled with his words. A strangled sob escaped my lips, " I'm not crying. " He shook his head weakly and mumbled, " Liar. "

Looking into his eyes, I saw blood slowly seeping into his cornea. I feared that he could have had an hemorrhage in the brain due to the injury. I had to keep him awake, so even though I knew it must have been hurting him, I tried to keep up the conversation. " I'm not lying. You lied. You said nothing was gonna happen to you. "

He looked at me with sad eyes and murmured softly, " I'm sorry, baby. " I shook my head slowly, my tears dripping onto his bloodied shirt, " No. Don't, Ryan. Don't even think about it. " He lifted his hand with much effort and grazed his fingers against my cheeks, " I... I don't...know what's.... gonna happen next.... Sunflower. But I....know one thing. I... I love you with everything I have in me. "

I closed my eyes in anguish as the clouds of uncertainty engulfed me once again. His words sent a stinging pain shooting through my heart. He had made it sound like it was a goodbye and my brain refused to even consider that possibility. No, it wasn't even a possibility. It couldn't be.

" You make it sound as if you're leaving me, " I sobbed. He looked at me with a painful expression on his face and attempted to say something but a cough erupted from his lips again and more blood spit out. No, please, no.

His hand dropped back onto his chest and I panicked. My eyes frantically searched his ocean blue orbs only to see them slowly start to lose their light. My hands trembled with fear as his breathing became unsteady. " No, Ryan. Breathe. Please. Stay with me! Stay with me, please. I can't live without you, " my sobbed desperately. His eyes brimmed up with tears, " I love you, Evelyn. " I screamed in agony, " No! No, Ryan. Don't go this to me. Please, I love you. Please. "
