- Two Weeks Later: Day Before Mnet Countdown -
The last two weeks have been practice, practice, practice. With barely any breaks and countless times we had to re-practice choreo because something was wrong, it didn't help that I had to practice with Stray Kids, the back-up dancers and Han. I didn't really get much of a break unless it was the weekend and since I was pushing myself, it wasn't good either. Han and I were pushing ourselves the most because Han got news that his parents were going to watch the live stream of his performance, so he felt more pressured. I could tell he wanted it to be even more perfect than before and I continued to make it perfect with him.
However, because I was pushing myself to a whole other level, my ankle couldn't take it and it's totally fucked up. I thought my ankle would've gotten better but because I wasn't giving it enough rest I made it worse, which is only my stubborn self's fault. Sadly, tomorrow is the Mnet Countdown stage and if I wasn't so determined, plus stupid I wouldn't be dancing but I am.
That's how I ended up here, sitting on my kitchen counter with my foot in the sink. Currently my ankle looks like a big ass blueberry, it's really gross and I would probably scare some people. It's swollen badly to the point that my ankle is actually black and blue. Not pretty. That's why I decided to make an ice bath for my ankle since it was easier than filling up a whole bathtub. Now I can't move, so I'm sitting here watching Netflix until I see a difference within the ankle. I'm hoping that the swallowing will go down and if I rest on it for the rest of the night then my chances of surviving tomorrow will be higher.
Everything was peaceful in my dorm, and no one really decided to bother me because tomorrow was a big day. Stray Kids were busy and since Han and I practiced earlier today we didn't need to right now. However, I kind of forgot that Elle had nothing to do because she had a stylist meeting earlier today.
Sitting in silence, Elle walked straight into my dorm and the first thing I thought was 'Fuck. I should've remembered to lock my door.'. When she saw me in the kitchen, she walked over but stopped immediately when she saw my position on the counter. "Why are you sitting there with your foot in the sink?" After she said that, she leaned forward to see what my foot was doing in there and the moment she saw my ankle, her eyes widened.
Before I could even say anything, Elle started going off on me. "What the fuck is that? I thought you said it wasn't serious. That doesn't normally happen when you have your ankle problems. What the fuck (Y/N)." I was about to say something to try and get her to calm down, but Elle's eyes widened, and she started going off again. "OMG! You can't dance tomorrow if that's what your ankle looks like. Not happening (Y/N). If you dance tomorrow who knows what is going to happen to your ankle. I can't let you do that." Elle was panicking and honestly it was giving me a headache.
Since she stopped talking to take a breather, I finally had time to get my thoughts out. "Elle, stop. Calm down, okay. I'm dancing tomorrow, final decision." Elle was about to interrupt me, but I put my hand up to stop her. "I'm not backing out of this. They can't find a back-up dancer who can replace me for Stray Kids that fast. Plus, what about Han, huh? I can't just leave him in the dark like that. He wants this to be perfect for Stay's and his family. I can't leave this for another dancer to do, plus no one learned the choreo other than us. No one can replace me." I could see Elle was annoyed with me because of my stubbornness, but I could also see a plan working through her head.
"Elle." I said in a serious tone, she looked a little panicked but stayed silent. "You are not allowed to tell anyone. If you do, I swear to god Elle it won't end pretty." Elle could see the seriousness in my face and if it was anyone else, they'd be shitting their pants, but Elle didn't care because she knew I wouldn't do anything to her.
