"Umm, it's just...just...Waise hee...", I trailed.
Oishi's expressions turned to that of suspection.
I scratched my neck and looked for the piece of cake that I was offered, "Uhh...kahan gaya..."

I found it on the platform near the microwave and awkwardly offered it to Oishi, "Cake?"
She snapped her eyes to mine, crossed her arns in front of her and looked me from top to bottom with contempt.
Well, fuck.

I kicked myself mentally for never, never thinking once before spilling was something from that asshole that was my mouth.
Why don't you ever think about the consequences about your actions, Ajey?
Abb bhugat.

She loosened up a tad bit and was about to say something when Ojasvi entered the kitchen.
Seems like she was ready to go.

She was wearing a simple white crop top, and a light blue jean pinafore covering her shoulders to her ankle.
The hair was adorned by a black headband.
Just like always.

"You cleaned up? Why did you do that?", she asked scanning the floor.
"Because I created it?", I shrugged.
"There was no need.", she waved her hand.
"There was no need but there was a want.", I answered.
"You and your answers!", she rolled her eyes and smiled.

"Oishi, we are going. Can you just mix this dry ingredients with the liquid ones, make a batter and put it to bake please? I think we are getting late now.", she said and pointed to the various ingredients on the platform.

"Why should I?", she shrugged.
Yep, she was the classical little girl thinking it's 'cool' to be a rebel.
But before Ojasvi could answer, I said, "Because it's your birthday and it's your moral duty to help your elder sister?", I counter-questioned.
This passive aggressive behaviour of her was making me go all bonkers.
She made a face at me.

"Don't stress it. Actually, on second thought, stay away from the kitchen only. Or else you will end up messing things up.", she said to her little sister.
"I wasn't going to anyway!", Oishi shrugged.

"Typical little sister. Now, let's go.", she said and grabbed my arm.
"Hey! You cannot have the last word! It was your choice to make me a birthday cake! Now deal with it!", Oishi shouted.

"Don't let her act so rude to you.", I whispered to Ojasvi as she tied her shoelaces.
"Oh she isn't acting rude! It's just the younger sibling things.", she gave me a cheeky grin and winked.

By that time, Oishi had went to her room and slammed the door shut.
I shook my head at her in defeat.

Ojasvi sighed and said, "Little siblings. They act like they don't care, but they will always be there for you in their own, silent, rigid ways. They are our second parents, actually. Pretty sure they express only the childish side of our parents.", she let out a small chuckle.
I smiled and again shook my head slowly, showing disbelief.

"Of course you don't understand. After all, you aren't the elder one.", she winked.
I laughed.

By the time we reached Baskin' Robins, the three other members of our group had already arrived and were sitting on a table.
I and Ojasvi decided on the way that if we ever get asked, we will tell them that I simply had to pick up from her home and then drop her off afterwards.
But I think Anmoul will have the latter part covered.
And I preferred it that way; more than anything else, it will provide an opportunity for her to talk to Anmoul about the matter at hand.

Upon mutual approval, a classic Black Forest cake was ordered.
The cake arrived and we all sang the old bollywood song 'Baar Baar Din Ye Aaye' because let's be honest, 'Happy Birthday' and 'You Were Born In The Zoo' are a little too overrated.
