31st August, 2016.

"Mom, please!", I whined; very unlikely for a 17-year old to do especially someone from Delhi NCR.

"Nope, no way, Ajey.", she answered back sternly.

"Maa, you have no idea how much this means to me!", I could feel my voice getting louder.

"Aavaz neeche.", she ordered.
I clicked my tongue.

"Ajey, zidd mat kar. I know how much this means to you, beta. I know you are so passionate about it, but for that, you can't skip school, no?", she said softly.
"Maa, this is the one and only time that I am asking you to let me skip school voluntarily."

"And this is the one and only time I am asking you to keep your craze for games at side, and focus on your studies!", Maa said.

"You have your exams starting in two days, and you want to attend some game competition!", she scolded.

"Yes.", I said, like a complete fool.

She looked at me for 2 minutes straight as if she can see through my soul, then sighed and said, "Theek hai, you can go. But I will not let you skip school for that."

I clicked my tongue again.
I raised my hands up in utter defeat and stomped my way back upstairs.

"Ajey, I just allowed you to go, tujhe woh nahi dikh raha! At least be grateful for some things in your life!", she yelled.

I entered my room; Yash was sitting on the small bed with his laptop on his lap.
"You know, she's completely right. And you are an ass.", Yash said without looking up from his laptop.

"You heard that?!", I said.
"You have inherited Maa's high pitched voice. It's only natural I heard it. In fact, I think the neighbour's would have heard it too.", he shrugged.

I sighed deeply and sat on my chair with a thump.
"Yeah, I know she's right. But Yash, I can't- I just can't control it, you know. It's like I need to participate in that competition. It's such a huge thing for me! And-and Harnit's going too!", I said.

"But Maa's allowing you no? Phir kya problem hai?"

"School gets over by 2 p.m., and the competition's starting at that exact same time! Kaise manage hoga?!", I said.

I was so fucking stressed.
(P.S. when am I not?)
There was this 'Warfare Gaming Competition' in which I wanted to take part so desperately.
It is going to be held tomorrow at 2 p.m., unfortunately, at the exact same time that my school ends for the day.
Now, the place at which it is going to be held is only about 5 minutes away from my school.
I have no problem in participating in the same with my school uniform, but the real issue was the time.
Even if I leave the school at about 1:50 p.m., I can reach there on time, but that will never be possible.

So, I asked Maa to let me skip school tomorrow, so that I can attend the competition, but she is adamant in her decision.
I have to do something.
I have to do something.
I can't just sit still.

I began pacing my room, with the fidget spinner rotating in my hands.

But what can I do?
I will have to attend the school, but somehow, I will have to leave early.

Now, I wasn't the rebel types; bunking school very often, defying all the rules, I didn't do that shit.
But, now when it is about game...

I assured myself that some idea would come up and I will somehow manage to participate in the competition as well as attend the school.
