You had never been to an art show before. More specifically, you had never had a man buy you a two hundred dollar dazzling, strapless dress with a modest neckline and a beautiful split down the side, brand new white heels, pay to get your makeup and hair done, all for this fancy art show he insisted you accompany him to. There were men and women all dressed to the nines, showing up with thousand dollar jewelry and purses. There was wine tasting, hor dourves, and stunningly expensive pieces of art hanging all around you. Even though Kylo took it upon himself to make sure you looked just as magnificent as everyone else, something about the fact that these people were rich and you weren't still made you feel like you were out of place. Staying by Kylo's side the entire night you stood there with a glass of what was called Pauillac 2010 in your hand, simply looking at everyone that existed around you. There was something familiar about all these people, though. You just couldn't put a finger on it.

"Mr. Solo," Came a voice from beside you. Kylo turned to greet him, and with your arm snaked into his you turned as well.

"Ah, Mr. Kaimana, it's so good to meet you," Kylo exclaimed while holding his hand out to the man to shake. He was a portly man with greying hair and a scraggly beard, thick black glasses and dressed in a sharp tuxedo. He looked happy, with a big toothy grin upon shaking Kylo's hand. "This is my plus one. Brought her with me for support, you know?" Kylo laughed upon introducing you by name. You smiled and shook Mr. Kaimana's hand as well.

"Absolutely, I can appreciate that," The man said with a nod of his head. "Are you ready to discuss your role there in the office? The casting director is dying to meet you," Your eyes widened as the truth finally came out. This entire thing was for a role Kylo was negotiating, and as you unwound your arm from his you couldn't stop your heart from racing. What kind of role was he negotiating that put him around so many wealthy people?

"Certainly," He answered Mr. Kaimana before turning to you. "Wait for me here? I'll come find you when I'm finished." He said, to which you nodded your head. Truthfully, you were shocked speechless by what Kylo had hidden from you this entire time. But yes, him coming and finding you was great. A hopeful smile grew on his face before he turned and walked away with Mr. Kaimana, and once he was out of sight you felt so lonely. So many other men and women were mingling around you, and, again, you felt so out of place. You glanced over your shoulder, passed all the people to the glass doors that led to the garden. The sun was setting there in the city and you were sure no one else would be out there. You clicked your way past everyone, quietly excusing yourself whenever you got too close to anyone else. You'd feel more comfortable sitting and waiting for Kylo outside in the cool October South Carolina air. Kylo had driven you all the way out to the coast for this art gallery and kept the fact that it was for a role a secret. You needed a few minutes to clear your head.

The two of you had been happily living together for just under half a year now. You had forfeited your $400 weekly checks in favor of allowing Kylo to pay the rent on your apartment as well as for everything else. Now, the two of you were more like a couple than ever. You were happy to wake up next to him every day, to do his laundry when he couldn't, to cook for the two of you, and to support him in his acting endeavors. He would go into detail about the roles he was auditioning for, going over his monologues in your bedroom and getting so into some of them that the neighbors would sometimes bang on the wall to quiet the two of you down. The two of you would only snicker as if you were two teenagers causing a ruckus because it never mattered to you. Kylo had always been transparent with you, always taken your needs into consideration with his every choice. You just wondered why he hadn't told you he was auditioning for such a major role.

You took a seat on a nearby bench, one that had a front seat view of an extravagant water fountain. The stone woman with braided hair held a beautifully engraved pot that spilled over into the pool below her, cascading over her sandaled feet in the process. It was so serene. The stars sparkling above you. The sound of the water trickling in both ears. You shoved your hands under your thighs and closed your eyes. Kylo had really given you everything.
