Chapter 17

'As soon as I see you with someone else I get jealous'

"So how is your progress going with Sehun?" Baekhyun asked however his focus was on something else, maybe on a certain blonde Chinese boy and a small doe eyed boy.

He couldn't help but glare, why is he acting like he's close to Kyungsoo?
he asked himself then shook his head at what he had just thought about.

Kyungsoo was getting annoyed, this talk Chinese boy wouldn't leave him alone, he kept on following him like a puppy and asking him stupid questions, he doesn't even understand that Kyungsoo had been avoiding him the whole time.

The tall boy was chattering  next to him and he wasn't even listening to him, finally not being able to listen to him any longer Kyungsoo stood up, Tao finally looked up at him, "Where are you going?" Tao asked, "The library, I need quietness" Kyungsoo said rolling his eyes before walking up, "I want to come too" Tao answered pouting,

"Don't!" Kyungsoo said and stood up but Tao followed anyways.

"I need to go somewhere" Baekhyun said standing up confusing Chanyeol and Chen, "Where are you headed to?" they asked in unison, "No idea, but I'll be back soon so don't mind me" he said brushing them off as he followed the two, what am I even doing?

"Kyungsoo wait" Tao whined but Kyungsoo continued walking without looking back, "Wait for me" Tao called out catching people's attention, Kyungsoo clenched his fist and turned around finally, Tao smiled but his smile dropped when he saw Kyungsoo's annoyed face.

"Why do you keep following me?" he asked, "Because I want to be your friend" Tao shrugged and answered,
"Don't you see that I'm busy and why do you even want to be my friend when you can get any other friends you want?" he snapped, Tao looked down making Kyungsoo feel a little guilty but he pushed away that feeling.

"Because you are nice" he mumbled,
Kyungsoo sighed, "It's best for you to stay away from me" Kyungsoo said,
"Why?" Tao asked looking at him straight in the eye, "Because-" Kyungsoo was suddenly cut off when someone suddenly pushed Tao onto the wall and glared at him, Baekhyun.

"Who are you? Why the hell did you push me?" Tao asked annoyed looking at the shorter boy who had cornered him, Baekhyun glared back, "Stat away from Kyungsoo!" he half yelled catching the attention of half of the people in the hallway, "Why?" Tao asked.

Baekhyun found himself at lost not being able to answer for a moment,
then he smirked, "Because he's a disgusting gay fag and if you don't want to be infected by it it's best to stay away" Baekhyun said, loud enough for everyone near by to hear it making them whisper to each other.

When Baekhyun said that he made eye contact with Kyungsoo and the other looked really hurt, and for some reason he felt guilty, what is this pain inside?

Kyungsoo felt his cheeks burn when he heard the whisperings, he made eye contact with Baekhyun but immediately looked away then he looked at Tao, who looked surprised and a little confused.

Not being able to face the tension he turned to his heels and ran away only to be tripped and his face fell on the floor.

"Fag" someone said, then someone kicked him from behind making him cough, he did not even bother covering himself or yelling for help since he was already used to the bullying, the pain felt numb to him now.

But then something different happened, he heard groaning and it was not from him, he managed to open his eyes to find that the guy who kicked and tripped was groaning in pain lying on the floor,his eyes widened as he looked up at an angry Tao,
"Who the fuck do you think you are to hurt my friend you dimbass!" Tao yelled then he looked down at Kyungsoo, his eyes softened, Kyungsoo looked away feeling embarrassed.

Tao reached his hand out, "Can you stand?" he asked smiling gently, Kyungsoo blushed and nodded his head, "I can" he said standing up with Tao's support, Tao held Kyungsoo's hand and dragged pass the crowd as Baekhyun stood there watching them, mixed emotions.

When they reached a quitter corner, Tao let go off his hand, "Are you really okay? Do you want me to beat that guy up again?" he asked, "I'm fine, thanks" Kyungsoo said still not making eye contact.

"anything, you're my friend after all" Tao said, "You still consider me as your friend even after knowing who I really am?" Kyungsoo asked, Tao looked at him with the 'are you kidding me' look,
"Off course, why would even think I would stop being your friend just because you're gay? That's the most stupid thing I've ever heard" Tao laughed, Kyungsoo's heart fluttered.

"I'm bisexual myself anyways" Tao added giving Kyungsoo a wink,
"Do those guys bully you because you're gay?" Tao asked, Kyungsoo looked down at his feet as he nodded his head, he heard Tao scoff.

"Now listen here Kyungsoo, now that I'm here you do not need to worry about them alright? I'll protect you, I'll wushu all those dumb bullies" Tao said with a smile as bright as ever, "You don't have to..." Kyungsoo muttered,
"I want to, because I'm your friend" Tao said and Kyungsoo smiled at him, after  a long while he had finally smiled genuinely, "Thank you Tao" he said,

After a long time, someone had finally accepted him, he was still doubtful as he had been betrayed by a certain someone before but by the way Tao's eyes looked so sincere he thought that he could trust him, had he finally gotten himself a friend like he always wanted?
He was still scared, scared to trust Tao, scared to be happy with a friend but he thought he might as well try, having a true friend.
