Chapter 33

Kinakabahan at unti-unti akong napasulyap sa kanya sa gilid ko. He was expressionless and his attention was already on his laptop and work again. Napalunok ako at sumimsim ulit sa kape ko dahil parang nanuyot ang lalamunan ko sa biglang pag-reply niya sa story ko.

_reijalatisha: Wdym missing someone? Are you eavesdropping on me

Binaba ko na ulit ang phone ko at ginawa na lang ang mga dapat kong gawin na hindi ko matapos-tapos dahil sa distraction ko sa kanya. Nakikita ko rin sa gilid ng mga mata ko na hindi na siya ulit nag-cellphone kaya pinilit ko na lang siyang hindi pansinin. Nag-earphones na lang din ako para hindi ko na siya lalo mapansin.

Successfully, natapos ko naman ang mga tinatrabaho kong requirements at nakapag-research din ako ng mga condo na pwede kong makuha. Nang tumingin ako sa gilid ko, nandoon pa rin naman si Prince at may sinusulat sa iPad niya habang bukas ang iilan niyang mga libro at laptop niya. Kinuha ko ulit ang phone ko para i-check kung may messages ako pero nakagat ko ang labi ko ng unang bumungad sa notifications ko ang reply niya sa'kin sa IG.

rd.esquivel: Eavesdropping? Sinasabi mo bang pinapakinggan ko usapan niyo ng boyfriend mo?

Napatakip ako sa bibig ko para pigilan ang tawa ko at sumulyap sa kanya. Sana naman 'wag niyang mapansin na natatawa ako sa reply niya.

_reijalatisha: Paano mo malalaman kung may namimiss ako kung hindi mo naman maririnig?

I turned off my phone again and I was actually supposed to leave the coffee shop already since tapos na ako sa mga ginagawa ko but his presence makes me want to stay here longer! Napaismid ako nang tingnan ko ulit ang phone ko at wala siyang reply. I already know that since I can see him very clear from where I'm sitting. I mean, he's just literally beside me, just a meter away!

I frustratedly scratched my nape and thought of asking him if how long he would stay here. I mean, it's unnecessary but... who cares?! Gusto kong itanong, e!

_reijalatisha: By the way, how long are you going to stay here? You seem so busy. School works?

Damn, that sounds so, so engrossing! Nakakahiya but, well... I swear hindi naman na mauulit 'to so whatever.

I stood up again to order pastries since I think I would be staying here longer than supposed to be because of this damn asshole. When I came back to my seat, I checked my phone again and saw a message from Kuya but the one that took my attention first was Prince's reply.

rd.esquivel: Oo. Bakit curious ka? Sasamahan mo ako hanggang sa matapos ako?

I smirked and typed a reply.

_reijalatisha: I didn't say that.

I was just about to switch to another social media app but he immediately replied! My heart almost jumped and when I glanced at him, he's already holding his phone and typing something. When I looked at my screen again, I saw his status on typing! We're literally chatting when we're just beside each other! Well, I wouldn't like to talk to him in person, though.

rd.esquivel: Akala ko gusto mo akong samahan e. Willing naman akong lumipat ng table.

rd.esquivel: Baka lang gusto mo

Umirap ako. Ugh, he's still so boastful! Ang kapal pa rin ng mukha tapos ang harot pa!

_reijalatisha: No way. Close ba tayo?
