Slowly, you got your head around it. Gally had lived, been saved and was now standing in front of you planning to get Minho from WCKED. Simple, right?
You sighed from the back of the room as Thomas and Newt got into a disagreement you didn't have the energy to understand. Your eyes were fixed on Gally and had been ever since you saw him in the main entrance of the Crank Army's headquarters. Although he tried not to, you caught Gally looking back towards you a couple of times but no words, never mind sentences, were shared between you both.
Suddenly, Newt had backed Thomas to the wall and yelled at him. Everyone's, including yours, attention was drawn to that. It went quiet for a moment. Then, Newt apologised under his breath and limply left the room, to which Thomas followed after him.
"Aw, what an experience. The couple's first argument." Jorge said wittily earning a few chuckles around the room. "Come on mi hija. There's too much tension this room." His gaze crawled over to you and flicked to Gally for a split second.
Then, Jorge left the room with Brenda at his side, leaving you and Gally awkwardly silent and apart. "So, are we just going to stand here in silence?" Gally reluctantly asked.
You didn't respond.
"Come on, Y/n. Aren't you going to saw anything? You've been staring at me since you saw me. Have you really got nothing to say?" His fists clenched at his sides.
Knowing he was upset made you glad and the corners of your mouth lifted into a smirk. Gally stared at you, unbelievably. Eventually, you shrugged, which really set Gally off then.
"Y/n, just speak to me. Please!" Gally pleaded. "I'm sorry, alright. Is that what you want to hear? Just please, talk to me." Gally made his way subtly over to the chair you were sat in and stood over you, probably trying to intimidate you.
"Fuck you." It felt weird not using Glader slang but you weren't going to hang onto that. "Fuck you, Gally." You repeated.
Tears formed in the creases of Gally's eyes but they clung onto his eyelashes. His jaw clenched and his hands shook. You didn't recognise this Gally, maybe that was a good thing, but you knew he'd developed from the boy everyone had know to a man, who'd fought against WCKED everyday since then.
"Why didn't you find us, fucker?" You stood up and pulled Gally into a tight bear hug. You recognised his natural scent and feeling of safety immediately.
Gally laughed into your shoulder and squeezed you tighter. "I missed you too."
"I fucking hate you." You furrowed your eyebrows and squeezed the tears away. You weren't going to cry, you weren't going to cry.
"Yeah, I love you too, Y/n." Gally pulled away for a second and kissed your lips delicately. You released the breath you'd been holding in and kissed him back more passion-filled.
Slowly, but surely, you both parted back into a hug and simply stood there on the spot while quiet music began playing far into the background. Gally swayed you to the tune and the seconds turned into minutes until your sense of time dispersed fully.
It was only until Frypan had interrupted you both to tell you that everyone was getting prepared for tonight downstairs, that you realised you'd been there for almost half an hour.
"Oh, okay. Erm, we'll be down in a second then." You blushed and quickly parted from Gally as you grabbed the satchel on the side of the crate you had been sitting on. "Mind not telling anyone about this, Fry?"
Frypan held a look of disbelief but he was your best friend, you knew he'd keep any promise he'd make. "Sure. Just make sure nothing else happens, Y/n." His tone was strong.
Letting out a sigh as Frypan left the room, you turned away from Gally. "What was that?" He asked from behind you.
Oh God. You had really wished that you wouldn't of had to have this conversation. It's tough luck though. It was bound to happen and you had known it since you found Gally.
"Listen, Gal." You straightened the strap of the satchel on your shoulder. "Things have changed... I'm with someone else. We can't go back to what we were. I'm sorry..."
