Laying in bed while tossing up a baseball and catching it, I was using the repetitive motion to help me think. Maybe I really was the idiot. I should have known the fuck-buddy arrangement with Mick would have gone sour.

However, I didn't think it'd be to the point of affecting our friendship to this degree. It was awkward, to say the least.

I wanted to somehow at least mend the friendship between us even if he no longer wanted to continue the other aspect of our relationship, but I didn't know how. It wasn't as if I did something wrong and could apologize for. I literally just took a bullet for him, and he cut me out completely.

I wasn't stupid to not figure it had to do with his loss of Snart, but the idiot should've realized he was so scared of me dying as well because he cared about me. At least to some degree, anyway. He liked to play lone wolf with no feelings, but that just wasn't the truth. His attitude towards me was proof of that.

So how was I supposed to be his friend again? How was I supposed to get through to Mick when he was being so bullheaded?

"Hey, wanna watch Stein mind control Mick?" Jax smiled at me.

"....Sure." I shrugged before following Jax to the MedBay. Mick and Stein had these strange devices stuck to the sides of their heads while Mick sat, and Stein stood a few feet away.

"Now, Mr. Rory, I want you to get up out of that chair. No, I command you to get up out of that chair." Stein said with a stern voice, but Mick just sat there with his eyes closed. "Do-Do you feel anything at all? A foreign impulse? A slight twinge perhaps?"

"Wait, I'm picking up on something."

  "Oh, my God, it's working."

  "I'm hungry."

"This is a disaster." Stein muttered, and Mick hopped up while taking the device off of his head.

"So much for mind control." I said.

"Maybe you have to have a mind to be controlled." Jax popped off.

"Oh, should we try with Logan, then?" Stein looked at me with raised brows.

"How nice of you to think I have a mind." I joked. "Why the Hell not?" I picked up the device from the table before sticking it to the side of my head. Putting my hands on my hips, I looked right at the older man and waited.

"Okay. Logan, pick up that magnifying glass." Stein pointed to the object on the table. I continued to just stand there. "....Pick up the magnifying glass." And still, nothing happened.

"Hm." I hummed while taking the device off. "Are you sure the transmitter and receiver are even connected?"

  "I'm sure of it."

"Maybe you're doing it wrong, then."

"There's no doing it wrong. The device is designed to-to control one mind with another." Stein replied while making a face.

"All right, Gideon, let's get ready for take-off."

  "Yes, Captain."

"This doesn't feel right. We don't just leave people in trouble." Jax stated.

"They're knights, and they're fighting so we can get away." Sara said as she went to the Waverider's controls.
