"It's been .. five days now? I'm surprised the game master hasn't tried any tricks to get us fighting with each other near the water" Lance mumbled as the three of them sat in the makeshift camp, Pidge and Keith snapping their eyes towards him.

"Are you trying to get us killed!" Keith yelled out, glaring a little towards the district twelve man.

"Dude! You're gonna jinx us" Pidge snapped back, throwing a stick at Lance making him yelp.

"Yikes, sorry. Newbie to the games remember. But seriously, it's been almost a week now, just under, why haven't anything .. bad happened. The dead count is now twelve. There's only twelve of us left in the games now and three of us is doing oddly well here. Even if Keith did join us a couple hours ago" Lance spoke his worries out loud, he wasn't a victor like Keith nor was he a genius like Pidge but he knew something was wrong, a strange feeling was in the air.

Within the past couple of days since Lance killed his first person, more tributes had fallen inside the dome. Both district nine is out meaning both Malocoti and Sniv was killed, one yesterday and the other died the day after Lance killed Ladnok. Narti from district three was announced dead last night as well, Keith admitting to be the one who killed her due to unexpectedly having her run into him.

Thankfully, it only took Lance a single day to recover from killing someone. Pidge felt bad for not giving him more time but they had to survive and she needed him with his sensors again.

He mostly got shocked back as Pidge had a run in with Sendak himself when she went to the seawater, checking for supplies after cleaning her shoulder injury. But it seemed the carers had made the beach their own turf now and Pidge found that out the hard way. But she got away with just a couple bruises from dodging and leaving one of her throwing knives in Sendak right eye. Her rushed return shook Lance out of his shock and despair thankfully.

But yesterday, they did almost end up having to kill again. Bumping into Throk and Haxus, both rather skilled up close fighters that almost took their heads off as the two were collected fruit.

Of course, Pidge was never planning on telling Keith about her bumping into Sendak and taking one of his eye. It was a death sentence after all and she knew her special someone would worry for her, fear for her life. He'd try to do something stupid to keep her safe and she wasn't going to allow that. Not now she finally got him back but she knew she had to tell him, while he stayed close to her, his life was in danger. She could never forgive herself if she allowed him to die for her actions, she couldn't lose him again.

"Hate to say it but he's right. Something should have happened by now. There's only us three, Florona and Luxia mostly left who hasn't grouped up dangerous. Sure, there's three of us now but not many held hopes for me and Lance. We know Haxus and Throk has teamed up and Zethrid and Acxa still seems teamed up with Sendak by the beach. My guess is the group of three and two will soon form as a group of five to hunt us down. But still, why hasn't the game master try to push us closer. The last of us are clearly keeping to our turfs now" Pidge rambled out with a worried frown, lifting her hand to her chin, using her uninjured arm in hopes not to draw attention to the cut while Keith was around.

"And Ina, she's not been seen or heard from since the games started. I have a rough guess what direction Florona is in and where Luxia is hiding but Ina .. she vanished somehow. I think she was like me and just ran straight out, finding a good hidden spot and hunt when it's best to hunt. We should be careful over her, she's got skills to sneak around and kill us in our sleep" Keith added on with a scowl on his face as he was seeing the solo Ina as a bigger threat then the rest. But that's mostly because he could guess what the other's were planning and know what direction they were in but Ina, she was as much as a mystery as him.

"Maybe she found a secret path like we did" Lance offered his thoughts and Keith shrugged.

"Whatever is happening, we should all start being more on high alert. We're twelve left, five are those who'll gladly kill us in the most brutally way we can just to show off their skills to those watching at home. I'm sure the games will start pushing us all close together again, if we like it or not" Pidge sighed, going to run her hand through her hair but wincing as she tried using her injured side. Keith eyes snapping towards her, scanning her over before seeing the rip in her outfit and he was soon grabbed her upper arms in panic.

"Why didn't you say you got hurt! You could have gained a virus by now or worse, how did it happen .. who did this to you?" Keith growled back, his eyes glaring at the healing cut like it would just vanish under his unspoken threat.

"Tavo weapon her had pinned, Ladnok was about to finish her. But I .. I shot Ladnok" Lance answered , his voice low as he looked to his lap.

"Tavo, you were the one to beat the living shit out of him? I ended up killing him off as he kept yelling out and almost got the carers heading in my direction" Keith mumbled back as he met with Pidge gaze.

"What's your kill count?" Pidge asked as carefully pulled the ripped half's of her outfit to look at the wound on her shoulder.

"Tavo, Sniv and Narti. Yours?" Keith replied, giving a happy nod over her wound not looking so bad or infected before he sat back and looked to her more.

"I think I might go get a sip of water, rushing over thinking you were being attacked again just to find you two making out. It was a waste of good energy" Lance spoke up, slapping his leg and grabbing his machete to defend himself if he bumped into someone on the way.

Pidge just nodding, giving a small smile making Lance smile back to show he was okay before walking off towards their small waterfall. Keith staying silent, watching Lance leave and gain some good distance before turning back to the women before him.

"It hit him hard when he killed Ladnok, he hasn't killed anyone since. He's cheered up a bit but death counts still effect him" Pidge explained Lance issue, Keith nodding in understanding.

"Dose he know your kill count?" Keith asked with worry and Pidge gave a so-so sign with her hand.

"He knows some of them but not all of them. I killed Vakala and Hepta on day one. I also killed Varkon, that's how Tavo and Ladnok gained up on me. I think Varkon and Narti was sent to find them and team up with them under Sendak orders. Took out Sendak right eye as well but that's about all" Pidge sighed, reaching for Keith hand and holding his fingers, smiling a little as he didn't pull away.

"How many dose he know about?" Keith asked carefully, knowing it's best not to freak Lance out anymore then he might already be.

"He only knows about Hepta and me facing Sendak" Pidge admitted with a weak guilt smile.

"You faced off with Sendak and stole his right eye, you weren't going to me  .. right?" Keith shot back, a worried look in his eyes.

"Sendak will want revenge and I know you'll protect me, I don't want to lose you Keith. I can't lose you in these games, I know you can't forgive for what I did three years ago. Let you live with thinking I died as I did but .. I can't let you die in these games. I can't let Alfor win by taking the one person I can't give up" Pidge desperately replied, bringing her free hand to his scarred cheek and meeting with his gaze. Her walls falling down as she showed him everything and anything he wanted to see in her heart.

"And you won't, we'll win this together. We'll protect Lance like he's our own beloved pet and we'll all get away alive. I'm not willing to let you got a second time either" Keith whispered back, leaning into her hand and allowing his walls to break down for her.

"Keith" Pidge whispered as she just stayed staring into his eyes.

"Hmm" Keith hummed back, not even bothering to move away from her.

"He went in the wrong direction to the waterfall" Pidge deadpanned as Keith just hummed, enjoying the content moment.

"Huh?" Keith breathed out, his eyes growing wide as he lifted his cheek from her hand finally catching on what she just said.

"Lance, he went in the direction that leads back to the main jungle area" Pidge answered in a panic.

"Oh shit, he's gonna be one dead pup by tonight" Keith whispered yelled back, grabbing the katana Pidge got him before they both rushed off to find Lance.

"Urg, why can't he just stay put like a good dog" Pidge huffed out in annoyance.
