Truth Or Dare

Chapter Seven

Four months later

Cheryl made her way into Pop's to see Archie, Veronica, Betty, and Jughead.

The group was sitting at their usual table.

Moving over to them, Cheryl instantly sits beside Veronica and tries to grab a fry from her plate.

Veronica swatted Cheryl's hand away from her plate before Cheryl could get a fry.

Pouting, Cheryl turns to look at the brunette. "You would really starve your godchild?"

"Get your own food." Veronica teased.

"But the counter is so far." The redhead whines, batting her eyelashes toward Archie.

Swallowing the food in his mouth, Archie gets up and climbs over the back of the booth before heading to the counter to order Cheryl her usual.

"Thanks Archiekinz." Cheryl says when he comes back a few minutes later with a burger, fries, and strawberry milkshake for her.

Veronica rolled her eyes. "Lazy bones." She teased.

Pouting, Cheryl turns to face Veronica. "You try carrying this around all day." she complains, pointing at her stomach. "I have my seven month appointment next week. Will you come with me?" she asks, looking at Veronica and then Archie who had climbed back over the booth.

Veronica nodded. "Of course. Have you heard from Toni?"

Cheryl shook her head. "I've seen her around school but she avoids me."

"Maybe she'll come around." Archie said. "Maybe she'll realise she made a mistake."

Cheryl shook her head again. "I don't think so."

"Why not?" Veronica asked.

"It's not my place to say." Cheryl said.

At that moment the door to the diner opened and Toni walked in. She went straight to the counter to order a milkshake. She had another girl with her, one who Cheryl didn't recognize from school.

"Who is she with?" Cheryl asks jealously, pain in her voice.

"Teddy Altman. She transferred here from Seattle. Her parents are in the military and they move around a lot." Veronica said. "She's in my history class. She sits beside me. She's really nice."

Crossing her arms, Cheryl looks down just as Toni walks over with Teddy.

"Teddy, meet some of my friends. Betty, Jughead, and Archie. You already know Veronica." Toni says, purposefully ignoring Cheryl.

The redhead shifts uncomfortably and pushes her plate away, no longer feeling hungry.

"Hi." Teddy waved her hand shyly, pushing her fingers through her blonde hair. "It's nice to meet you all."

"Nice to meet you too."

Cheryl moves to get up, no longer in the mood to be at Pop's.

"Hey, where are you going? You just got your food." Archie said.

The redhead looks at him and swallows thickly before moving to sit back down.

"We were just going anyway." Toni said. "We just came in for milkshakes and I saw you guys and wanted to introduce Teddy to you all."

Cheryl keeps her eyes on the table, one of her hands resting against her baby bump.

"Oh my god, are you pregnant?" Teddy asks, shock covering her face.
