Peril's POV
I sharpened my sword, trying to get the thought of running away out of my head. It was an intriguing thought that kept entering my mind. But I did my best to ignore it. Today I have to think only positive things. Like Sunny. Ugh, but she soooo annnoooyyyyiiiinnnngggg. No. Peril, if Clay likes her then you have to like her.
I only noticed that I liked Clay after he left me in the training room. Now, every time I mention or hear his name I can't help but smile. I never felt so strongly about a person in so long. Just the thought of Clay --
"Tsunami I don't belong here!" a quiet voice growled.
"Of course you belong here!" Tsunami's loud and disturbing voice erupted. The boy that was known as Turtle scoffed and ran to the next room. (Which was where I was at). He closed the door and sighed in relief. I didn't know what to do. What do normal humans do when a complete stranger walks into their room? Certainly not get a weapon and defend themselves. Humans are much nicer.
So, instead of ramming my spear through the Atlantean's heart, I cleared my throat. Turtle turned around, his eyes widening in fear. "I don't think this is your room," I muttered.
"Yeah, I noticed," he grumbled. He glanced around the room then cleared his throat. "Uh, you aren't going to kill me...right?"
"No! Well...I guess I could if I wanted to. Actually, I could kill anyone if I wanted to. And you certainly look like someone who will bother me," I ranted. "But if I did kill you then I would have to be kicked out. Not that I want to kill you! Because I don't! I'm just thinking. I think aloud. I know, I know it's weird. But it's true. I should probably stop saying the phrase "kill you," I rambled.
Turtle nodded. "Yes please," he whispered.
"What are you even doing?" I wondered.
"I'm hiding from my controlling sister," Turtle growled.
"Hm, makes sense," I muttered. Turtle laughed, which made me realize that he wasn't scared of me. "You're not scared of me?"
"Should I be?" Turtle questioned. My eyes widened. He doesn't know who I am... I can be a better person...
So, I shook my head. "Nope. Not at all," I whispered. Suddenly, an alarm went off. I jumped off the floor and raised my sword defensively. "What is that awful noise?!" I yelled.
"An alert!" Turtle shouted. "Come on!" We ran over to the courtyard and saw everyone in their suits.
"Everyone, we have a villain alert and I'm sorry we didn't have a chance to train you guys. But, right now, it's time to show the world who we are," Tsunami yelled.

The screams. They were endless. I couldn't breathe, and the smoke kept blocking my sight. I could barely remember anything. The only thing I saw was Sunny lying on the floor, Starflight trying to protect her, and Fatespeaker trying to protect Starflight. "On!" I growled. Just as my fire appeared in my hands, the monster that attacked us slammed me against the wall. Its tentacle wrapped around my throat, causing me to gasp for breath. A flash of the past entered my mind when my head banged against the concrete wall.
(Flashback)
I was slammed against the building. I grunted in pain as the staff made of metal was pressed against my skin. I couldn't bear to close my eyes so instead, I stared into the eyes of my capturer. Scarlet's golden eyes glared at me with such dominance that I would've whimpered. "I told you to kill her...and yet you disobeyed me," Scarlet growled.
"I'm sorry...my queen," I gasped. My hangs kept wandering up to the metal staff.
"I should kill you," roared Scarlet. Suddenly, her anger-filled eyes changed to mischievous. "But instead, I want you to kill her..." She moved the staff away from my throat and pointed at a chained prisoner. I nodded then walked over to her without a second thought.
(Present)
"Peril!" a voice called. I blinked a few times and saw that Clay just cut the tentacle in half. He shook me vigorously. "Peril, you can't zone out like that!" he growled.
Anger boiled in me, who was he to say this to me? "I had it!" I snapped, lying. Even though I very much loved Clay, I was angry at him.
Clay rolled his eyes and frowned. "Peril, I'm pretty sure you didn't have it," he hissed. "C'mon! The rest of the group is almost done killing it. You need to rest," he said. Clay grabbed my hand and winced at the sudden contact. He dragged me into a building and searched for a first aid kit.
"That won't work," I murmured.
"Well, that has to be taken care of," Clay sighed, pointing to the big round cut on my neck. He walked over to me with a bottle of alcohol and cloth in his hand. "This is going to hurt like hell...just so you know," Clay whispered. He dipped the cloth in the alcohol and placed it on my neck.
I hissed in pain, cursing in my mind. The fumes of the alcohol reached into my nose, causing me to gag. Ugh, this day...sucks. At least Clay is helping me. Clay...
