Chapter 1

" Alisha... Alisha..... Listen to me please stop, listen to me Ish " He kept calling me while he was trying to catch up, I was exhausted, feeling betrayed, and tired now.

Until he held my hand and stopped me, I didn't want him to think I am weak.

I am strong, I am very strong, common ish you are stronger than this, don't cry, just don't cry sweetheart I kept telling myself Until I was interrupted by his voice.

" Ish, talk to me "

" You got it!!!! " yelled my brother Matt

" I got it? "

" Are you serious? "

" Are you freaking serious ?? "

" I am going to NYU ? "

I was too scared to check my email, what if I didn't make it, I dint have a backup plan, I have worked my ass off for it and I had to get in at any cost, else Idk what I would have done.

" Mommmmm , I got it "

My mom was always the supportive kind, She always let me follow my dreams, and this time I made her proud, I could see the joy on her face.

She was overwhelmed with joy, she soon started making calls.

We were a perfect family me, mom, dad, and Matt.

God, I miss them

So soon started my prep to move to NYU, I always wanted to graduate from NYU.

" When do you have to move to NYU? " I could sense the tears behind her voice, my friend Jane was on the call, we have been friends forever, we finished our schooling together but she got her Med seat here at Chicago but I had to move to NYU, I will miss her terribly.

" I will have to leave by next week, I need to get settled in the hostel room before college starts full time "

" I'll come to help you with packing tomorrow, proud of you Ish, " she said

" I'll miss you, Jane, how will I.. "

"Shush, you'll do great its just a few years anyway it's only a 12hr drive, you can make it before I die"

"Jane .. "

"Seeya tomorrow hon, bye "

I soon got off the call lay down staring at the ceiling when I realized this is the last week ill be spending in this room? , I have so many memories here, I'll miss them.

It was finally time to tell them all a goodbye, mom being a mom was full of tears but I knew she was proud of me.

The man behind all my happiness just stood there smiling, He was the reason I could study without worrying about anything after all dads are superheroes to their princess right?

"Take care of them matt, and don't move into my room, it's mine okay? "

Finally, I was ready to get out of my cocoon and live a life that I will remember.

Was I excited? hell yeaa.

"NYC I am coming" I screamed inside.
