Noah's POV

" Alicia,  Alicia "

" Look at me"

"Open your eyes Baby," I said trying to pat her cheeks to keep her awake.

I called the 911 immediately, now I had to keep her awake until they reach, her pupils were dilating and I was starting to lose her, her eyes were constantly trying to give up, If I lost her now I could lose her, I dint want to lose her at any cost.

" I will tell you a story okay? "

" Just listen to me, Okay? " She opened her eyes slowly eyeing me.

" Good "

At this point, It was me and a partially unconscious beautiful girl rested against my chest in this small cafe, I was trying to fan her some fresh air from the window and wiping the sweat off her face trying to keep her up with my story.

"Okay so "

" In a small town near Elemdale, there was a little family"

"a handsome boy, a very handsome one actually, " she tried to smile at my description.

"his beautiful sister, a devoted mother, and a brave father they were happy and content"

" but the devil casts an eye on all good things, right? "

" the boy remembers hugging his father for one last time before he went to fight for the country, The father told his son, now this is your family son, they are your responsibility take good care of them "

"A few months later a letter came flying, the kids were happy seeing a letter from their father but it was not a happy one, their father had sacrificed his life for the country and now the whole family fell on the boy's tiny shoulders. "

" There was only one kid who could now go to school with whatever they could get, the boy decided to quit school to make sure his sister got the best out of it, his mother worked hard every day at the factory sewing 100s of clothes so they could afford a meal every day, The boy sold newspapers, worked at the motel, even sang on streets to help his mom with a few pennies "

" But one day sun shined on them, their uncle came home bearing news, he wanted to marry his brother's widow and give his family a new life, The mother saw a bright future for her children and agreed to marry the uncle, Bad days were soon gone, the boy and his little sister could go to school, eat daily meals again "

" But it took days for them to realize their happiness was shortlived as the uncle started coming home drunk and abused the boy's mother, the boy was helpless, Whenever he heard screams he made sure he covered his sister's ears harder, hearing and feeling all the pain his mother was going through alone, He would wait for his sister to fall asleep so he can go and apply the aid to his mother's wounds, The mother accepted it all and went through hell only to keep her kids safe. "

" One day the boy decided to stop his uncle and spoke against him, but uncle had found his new prey now, new tender flesh he called the boy, The mother's turn had ended and the boy's turn had just begun, His head bashed against the wall, several belts marks all over the body burnt marks all over his hands from the cigarettes. But the boy never made a sound, never cried for help, he was happy that his mother and sister were safe, he was strong, stronger than his mother thought he was, He could take this every day to keep them safe "

" One day the uncle came home drunk, handed the boy some pennies to go buy him some cigarettes, the boy left without realizing his ugly intentions, It took the boy 10mins to get back home, There was blood oozing out of his uncles head, he was down on the floor dead, He also saw his mother in the hallway he quickly ran towards her shouted, begged for her to come back holding his sister safe in his arms even tried to remove the knife from her stomach so the would magically heal itself and bring her back to life. He didn't care for anyone now. He wanted to take care of his sister and make her his life but soon cops came and took the boy away seeing the knife in his hand snatching his only lifeline from him, she cried for him, he begged them but no one helped, the little girl waited and waited for his brother "

The ambulance arrived and they quickly brought the stretch and was trying to take her away when Ish held my hand and whispered something I couldn't hear her they moved her to a nearby hospital, I drove as quickly as possible behind them. They made me sign a couple of papers, I didn't read any of them my eyes were just eyeing for the bulb to turn from red to green, The doctors came out with a smile, now I could relax but one of the doctors wanted to talk to me

" Hello I am Dr. Ross, you must be her boyfriend, well I must say you got lucky, you could have lost her today. She is lucky to have you, you kept her engaged until the ambulance came, most of the time we get patients who fall unconscious after food poisoning due to allergies and It can be fatal, your girlfriend had consumed alcohol within the last 24hrs, we found traces of alcohol in her body it when we tried to pump out the poison causing pine nuts from her body, she is allergic to pine nuts and her body reacts to it as poison once it enters her body, and it was important to keep her up cause the body would give up fighting if she would fall unconscious and the alcohol she had consumed had made her blood thin making it easier for the poison to spread in her body, she was extremely dehydrated and it could cause her life, however, she is now out of danger but it might take her a few hours to wake up. Please make sure she never consumes pine nuts in any form cause it could be fatal. "

Hearing these words I had tears in my eyes, I never had tears before, I thought I was inhuman, selfish I didn't cry seeing my mom died, I never shed a tear when I read about my sister, I was trying to realize the intensity of this situation, I had already grown fond of this girl I had met just a few days ago and here I was listening to the words of a doctor who said I could have lost her, just the thought of losing another person make me feel I would have become all alone in this life again.

I wiped my tears and went to see her, she was still under observation and very fragile so I could just see her from outside of the ICU, she was sleeping like an angel who came back to life, I kept staring at her thinking of everything that she has gone through at such a small age, I could feel her pain now, she had lost someone she loved the most and dint even greet him for the last time, just like my Tes. I wish I had found her earlier and she had never made the decision of ending her life.

A few hours later, I was just sitting outside waiting for her when the nurse handed me her belongings and the doctors said I could take her home, She had to be in complete rest as her body could be prone to more infections at the moment, the hospital was 10mins away from my place so I decided to take her to my place so I could take care of her until she was fine, she was still unconscious but they discharged her cause of the heavy demand of beds that had been caused due to the outbreak of a pandemic, I carefully drove her home, this time I decided to seat her in the front seat by adjusting it so she could still sleep peacefully and secured her with the seatbelt, I wanted to make sure she was in front of me and she was safe.

The sun was making its way back home, the sky was beautifully painted in shades of orange, red making it an absolutely beautiful sight to watch while driving back home from an extremely mentally and physically exhaustive day.

I looked at her, her eyes were closed, she was still unconscious, her face was glowing under the beautiful red light from the sun, her eyelashes were long and curled carrying all the burden from her tired eyes, she looked so tired yet so beautiful. There was something about her that made me forget the world, she drew a smile on my face that had been missing for a long time.
